Found these after I got into off camera flash and I am very happy with the results and the price. When I first dipped my toe into off camera flash, and quite frankly not knowing what I was doing at all, I was stupid enough to go out and buy Canon speedlites for $250, thinking that was basically the only option. When I found the Yongnuo products, I was a bit skeptical, but I saw some reviews on YouTube and figured I'd give them a shot. For the price, probably even aside from the price, these are great products and I am amazed how it cheaply changed my photography. Of course, I have had flashes not fire, but I don't think I could ever trace the reason to these triggers. Rather, I think the non-fires were always due to the light not recycling in time, or batteries, or some other issue. Could you buy Canon (or Nikon), and maybe have 100% confidence that your flashes will fire? Maybe. But I can buy 5 of these guys for the price of a big name. So, I can get more many more lights and triggers and have many more options buying Yongnuo. My only problem that I had with this, and mainly due to my not reading a slightly confusing manual, is the power switch. I didn't realize that there are 2 options for the power switch: 560-RX and 622. In probably my second use, I had only slide the power switch one notch to the 560-RX setting and my flash wouldn't fire. I was stumped for quite a while trying to figure out the problem then finally (accidentally) found the solution by sliding the power switch one more notch to the 622 setting. The manual is confusing, but the bottom line is that these triggers communicate differently based on what transmitter you're using (I use the YONGNUO YN-622C-TX E-TTL trigger, and the proper setting on this receiver's power switch is the 622 setting). So, other than the above (not really a product issue), this is a simple design, easy to set your channel and group with just a push of a button. I have only good feedback and would recommend this product.

Paired with the 622c-tx transmitter, these work great. (Working with an 80D and 580EX II.) When used as a master, the camera might as well have the Canon brand unit installed. All menu options light up and work as expected. On the slave side, they seem to have no issues communicating with a 580ex II (despite the weatherized boot) and easily allow remote control of output, zoom, hss, etc. I tested using one of these with the 622c-tx to trigger the shutter, and while it works, there seemed to he a substantial delay. (Upwards of a couple seconds.) Not sure if that is due to an issue in the 622cII, an issue in the 622c-tx on the camera, or the decision to use the hotshoe triggering vs. direct shutter release cable. In the current state though, it would be great for stills but the delay would easily cause missed shots for anything involving action/movement. Since I wanted these just for flash firing, the shutter option was just a nice bonus, so definitely not an issue. (And not doable with JUST these units alone as the shutter option is in the 622c-tx unit.) All in all, a great setup at a fraction of the pocketwizard tax.

I have 4 of the original YN622C transmitters, and they have served me well, but now I'm seriously considering replacing them all with YN622C II's. They do everything that the 622C's do, with a few improvements: They now have a Quick Lock hotshoe foot, which is the main reason I'm considering buying more, it may seem like a small thing, but now with Quick Locks on my speedlights *and* triggers, set up and tear down takes seconds. USB port for firmware upgrades. Hopefully this isn't needed too often, but as was seen with the YN622C-TX, sometimes updates are needed to fix issues with models of certain cameras. To date, I haven't had to use this feature, as the transmitters have been flawless. Compatibility with the Yongnuo 560 transmitters. Not really applicable to me since all my triggers are 622C models, but it could be useful for others. I use mine with a YN622C-TX, but they work great with the in camera controls on my 6D and 70D and a 622C\622C II, I just use the 622C-TX for speed of adjustments when using multiple lights. The battery life is just as good as the original 622C, range is good, and so far they have proven reliable. They are also very compact, so they pack well; I carry them and two 430EX II's everywhere with me now. Id highly recommend buying the 622C II!

I've been doing photography for a few years now and always wanted to experiment with off-camera lighting. At first, I was looking into the Pocket Wizard options, but for what I wanted to do, the option to combine FlexTT5 and MiniTT1's quickly got expensive. I saw these online and did some research, everyone seemed to be very pleased with them, so I decided, for such a great the price "why not give them a shot?"... Well let me tell you, I'm extremely pleased with my decision!! These worked RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX, without having to go crazy with settings etc. I used them on my Canon 5D MKII along with my 430EX II's and 600EX RT and was able to remotely fire my flashes just on the default channel/group. I'm looking forward to playing around more with these at weddings and for portrait work. I'm hoping in the future they reconsider the design and make them a tad bit smaller and more ergonomic, but that's an aesthetic preference as they work just fine as-is currently. These are HIGHLY recommended!

Im going to jump right into it: PROS: Affordable, really easy to use, reliable signal from TX to receiver CONS: Not the best build quality, the battery cover removes pretty easily so you might lose it Final review: This flash trigger is amazing! It can do everything other more expensive flash triggers can do. I specifically got these to achieve high speed syncing which is really important for action/high speed photography and also using your camera to sync high shutter speeds during the day time with flashes. Right out the box and turning it on its not hard to understand how to use them if you've used external flashes, it uses standard terminology used when dealing with flash triggers. The menu is easy to read and understand. Also right out of the box they sync with the receivers too so you can literally put batteries in them and start using them. If your looking for reliable flash triggers that will work all the time and that you want flash triggers with high speed syncing and TTL functionality then I definitely recommend this system.

I was a bit sceptical to try these but so many reviews state they are great for a fraction of the cost of the "higher end" units so I decided to give it a test. So far I am completely satisfied with the performance. They are very easy to configure and the range ETTL function are fantastic. I have not had any operational errors. The only thing I wish was a bit different is the button placement on the sides of the unit. It is easy to accidentally change a setting. Overall I am very satisfied and woul not hesitate to recommend this product!

My Main reason for buying this set was to activate HHS off camera and to have manual control of the flash from my camera . I have a 5d mark 2 & 3 with a 580 exii. Taking a photo the unit will flash with no problem which lets me know the units are on the same channel etc but at first I couldn't control the settings wireless. Using the 580 ex ii on top of either camera allows full control of the flash with no problem, HHS, Everything working just fine. I went to my local camera store and they had a 430 ex with the older type twist down to lock mount and the pass through worked, as I pushed the camera shutter half way I saw the aperture flash on the lcd of the flash which let me know the connection was working. So either contacts are not close enough or something else is going on, I take the rubber off of the bottom of my 580 ex ii and now it works and I'm able to control the unit wireless.

After no longer working as a studio photographer with studio lights I started with Cactus manual triggers which I rewired and made them work 99% of the time even out to 300 feet. I tried two different sets of the Neewer 622c version of these TTL triggers but they were inconsistent at best. These Yongbuo triggers work great. I ran the Yongnuo's through many tests and didn't see any troubles including 50 feet and through multiple rooms. TTL exposure will vary very slightly when a photo is taken without a flash, so the very very slight variations with flash were acceptable. One reason for inconsistent exposure with these triggers can result from not giving the camera time to compute the exposure. Its just takes a slight pause of depressing the shutter button waiting a second to fully depress for the portrait. Since I previously worked with manual triggers it took me a little bit also to get used to the pause. To be honest I will also set these manually most of the time. So far I am very pleased with these and have ordered another set since I traditionally do 4 flash setups. I am using the 622c TX trigger which is great also. I use these with a Canon 70d a 580 EXII flash, Neewer 985C Flash, 2 SB-24 nikon flashes(in manual mode). When the lighting is constantly changing these give a lot of flexibility and I no longer have to use the ttl cable. I am also starting to consider adding more flashes and triggers to make more complex lighting setups. I have not had a problem with the locking mechanism being too loose. Honestly the mechanism makes it easier for those who have arthritis in their hands. The USB port also gives the potential for updates. That might be more of a gimmick though since these work well. I have not used these outside of the 622c mode. For me these triggers really work well.

I've owned the Nikon version of these wireless triggers and they performed beautifully, so I expected the Canon version to work just as well. I was not disappointed. I do use these as receivers only in conjunction with the YN-622C-TX E-TTL transmitter because it has a clean and easy to use interface. This makes for a winning combination and the price is unbeatable. Very reliable performance.

They are well made and have been very reliable so far. They support High Speed Sync and I love the quick lock hot shoe attachment feature. I have two of the YN622C's and this is a very worthy upgrade. No reason to buy the YN622C go straight for the YN622C II's

Great product, but a little difficult to operate at first. The problem was more with the camera and having it on the correct setting, but had to Google the information.

This is easy to use equipment. I give it 5 stars because I use it with the 622-TX transmitter. Without the transmitter you need to use your camera's menus and it wouldn't be as easy to operate. In fact, without the transmitter I give this transceiver 4 stars. So, if your really want ease of operation, I suggest buying this with the 622-TX.

I bought this for the focus-assist light while using a trigger stacked between my camera and on-camera flash. But I also found the on-camera control of my off-camera light power was super helpful, especially when my off-camera flash is inside of a softbox.

Great radio transceivers for Canon DSLRs when paired with the Yongnuo YN622C-TX transmitter. Transmits and receives all the Canon E-TTL signals and when used in pairs allows the in camera external flash menus to be used and transmitted to other YN622C transceivers. Great Value.
