This thing is amazing. After years of being worried about my flashes on wobbly mounts, I can finally shoot comfortably. They're plastic, but they are built incredibly strong. The clamp on top is easy to turn, and feels nice and secure on the head of your flash. The Bowens mount is an added bonus that makes it very easy to use high-quality modifiers. Lastly, the positioning of the opening for the flash in relation to the umbrella slot ensures that your flash is firing directly in the center of your umbrella. The only thing that I would change is I wish the knob that lets you adjust the angle of the mount was smooth and didn't function in notches or "steps". That being said, this is an amazing piece of hardware and I invested in two more after I received my first.

I picked this item up because I recently acquired a Flashpoint Streaklight flash, one of the 360 w/s, bare bulb units (similar to the Godox AD360 or Cheetah Light CL-360...) . In looking around for mounting/umbrella mount options, I wasn't impressed with what was available. There's one setup with a hole through the reflector that you would thread the umbrella post through and attach to a piece of plastic that is then attached to the flash head. Yeeeeaaaahh, but no thanks! Just what I want, something that will add torque to all the wrong points on an expensive flash unit! Not to mention that I would still need to attach this unit to the light stand! Then I found this item! It's built for speedlights, but it looked like it would do the trick for my unit, which too, is built like a speedlight (a pound and a half speedlight, but anyway...) It turned out to be WAAAAY better than I expected. The very first thing that I noticed was inside the stand mount; it's a METAL collar!! Woo-hoo! That was unexpected, mostly because I didn't even think about it. This unit is mostly plastic, but it's very thick and sturdy. And the fact that I can use all of my existing light modifiers, like my 7' umbrella, my deep 'half-a-blimp', hexadecagon, soft-box... Take a look at the pictures and you'll see all of the great points about this bracket. I really like that it has the clearance to allow me to mount any of my 'flash specific' light modifiers, such as the little reflector/diffuser that comes with the unit. I can still use my gels or anything else that suits me. When it's mounted, it's mounted! Very solid!

I use these with Quantum Qflashes as I wanted a way to mount them into a modifier without putting strain on the reflector connection, as anyone who knows Qflashes knows is a horribly designed weak point. I just bought a bowens speed ring and other bowens mount modifiers, and am very pleased. I imagine they'd work just as well for any speed light type of strobe, I just prefer the bare bulb inside a modifier. It also appears to be of very sturdy high impact plastic construction. The weight is quite acceptable. The only drawback would be that it ratchets rather than fluidly adjusts, but is definitely workable.

Fantastic. Well made. I use this with speedlight flashes, Godox 169 mm or 7 inch reflector, Pergear 7 Inch Flash Diffuser, and sto fen omni bounce. Using the omni bounce inside the reflector before the Pergear 7 Inch Flash Diffuser creates a slightly softer shadow line and a little more uniform light output. I think the quarter inch or so that the omni bounce sticks out in front of the flash creates a band of edge light 90 degrees to the face of the omni bounce diffuser that helps to light the perimeter of the Pergear 7 Inch Flash Diffuser.

If you do not have one of these, you want one. This is so easy to use and really makes set up and tear down a breeze. These work great also with the godox softboxes. I love that fact that i can just slip in my speedlight and way i want and tighten it down. It is study, my light does not move. I also love that i can just slip the softbox right over the bracket. No clamps, no wires, no spindles. Easy to use and a great price point. I wish I knew about these sooner because i would of save myself a lot of hassle.

I got this to use with a Godox AD360 Flash unit. It holds that heavy unit very securely. The handle that is used to adjust the angle has the nice feature of pulling the handle out and being able to position the handle in a different orientation after you have tightened the flash unit in place. I do wish the socket that fits on the light stand was a bit deeper for attaching to a baby pin, but it still holds fine. I plan to buy one or two more to use with my Yongnuo 560 strobes. Then I can change bowen mount accessories around with them as needed.

I am an amateur photographer. I started to buy some extra speedlights and with it a bunch of light modifiers with "umbrella type" fit. The frustration began when I got my first soft boxes. You constantly have to tear them open to change the power of your flash. With this bowens adapter, it makes it MUCH easier to dial various settings on your flash. Also, you will find much more accessories (like soft boxes, snoots, etc..) that are pretty much as cheap as those for "umbrella type" ones but with much better build quality.

I needed this to use a shoot through umbrella with a pistol gripped eVOLV 200 (aka AD200). I saw a lot of reviews of this to hold the AD200/eVOLV 200 light and it seemed all of them said it's a super tight fit and even with some modifications, it was still very tight. well, I don't know if Godox changed the mount or something, but I got mine and trimmed the "humps" of the top rubber pad as prescribed in a youtube video discussing this combo. after I did that and put the light in, I realized I never had to do it in the first place. there is MORE than enough room for my eVOLV 200. so, again, I don't know what's going on but the mount I received fit my 200 perfectly!

This is SUCH a strong, firm and value priced device. Holds my speedlights (Neewer and Youngnuo) very snugly with NO issues. Little bit tight at first, but work with it and the top screw will loosen up after a little use. Only, only, only thing (not an "issue" per se) would be when you raise or lower it's position, it takes a good bit of force to do this. It make a hard "snap/crack" sound as it moves into place. I know this section is all hard plastic and could wear over a good amount of time, but for the price...no biggie. At least I know it's going to STAY in that position once there. :-) Suggestion? Buy 2. If/when one has seen its best days, you will have a 2nd ready to do.

I bought this Godox S-Type bracket primarily for my new Flashpoint Evolv 200's (rebranded Godox AD200's), but I also like the fact that I can use one of the Zoom R2 TTL's in this bracket or really any other speedlight that I have, and still use Bowen's mount modifiers... In the past, people were having to modify the bracket to allow an AD200/Evolv 200 to fit inside. They were having to cut part of the rubber or plastic off of the part that holds it in place. I really didn't want to do that, but I had heard that the s-bracket had been re-designed and some people didn't have to modify it. Luckily, in my case, it worked right out of the box. I haven't really used it during a real shoot yet, but I've used it around the house just testing it out and I love the s-bracket so far! The only downer for me is the fact that it's bulky and takes up quite a bit of space, but that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make because I hate the traditional umbrella mount SO MUCH! Hate hate hate! This one is great. I'll be buying a few more of them to replace the other umbrella mounts. It's much easier to have one type of mount for everything so I can use the same bunch of gear instead of having something different for each mount or light.

Are you kidding me? Where have you been all my life? Fantastic product! A little stiff but I'm sure will loosen up after frequent use. Finally a bracket that takes the pressure off the delicate hot shoe. Strong! Sturdy! And you don't have to worry about damaging your expensive flashes if you're shooting off-camera. If you're a strobist, get one of these for every working flash you use on location. Why not? They're only $20 bucks! Bowens accessories fit pretty good. I own a Manfrotto umbrella bracket that costs twice as much and it doesn't give me the peace of mind like this baby. Like I said before...if you're serious about using off-camera flash, get one of these for each flash that you own. You won't regret it.

I have used a number of mounts for speedlights on light stands and had always been frustrated for one reason or another. This one works beautifully. The light is solid in the mount. Cold shoe mounts have been iffy with that at times. I have a 24 by 24 softbox that springs open and slips over the mount. It is a touch tighter than on the bracket that came with the softbox, but it actually is nicer that way. I have used an umbrella style softbox and it works beautifully too. I just ordered a couple Bowens mount modifiers and am looking forward to trying those. The tilt function is very good. It is more like a ratchet connection so you don't have to worry about it accidentally slipping forward. The handle pulls out to the side to reposition it if it is getting in the way of the modifier.

Overall pretty good, but let's run down this anyways: Cons: 1. Plastic feels cheap. It just does, sorry but on any sort of mounting/locking surface metal should be used. 2. The angle adjustment has a loud, uncomfortable clicking feel. as in, i'm going to click this thing broken 3. Could use a little more headroom for the speedlight mounting part Pros: 1. nice rubbery anti slide pads 2. Sping-Loaded Metal locking pin 3. Spring loaded angle adjustment handle (so you can move it out of awkward angles) 4. Additional holes for things like shoot-through umbrellas and the like

Grips flash securely (from jumbo Godox Witstro to small Canon 480exII), but clamp too small for Vivitar 285HV. Much more secure than an L flash bracket. I can carry the flash mounted on a stand without worrying about the flash falling off. I have three of them. My main complaint is that they don't pivot easily on the hinge, even with the lever loosened. I need to force it into position with both hands, and sometimes remove the flash to get better leverage. Umbrella mount is helpful. Bowens mount also useful. Fits many inexpensive collapsible softboxes. I've even made several diy flash modifiers that can attach to the different mounting options.

I bought this to center my Speedlight in the black/silver UMBRELLA. If only they made a version of this not for softbox use, would have been 5 stars. Obstructive size for my use but theres no shadow when used with diffusers. My Neewer T660 was tight to fit when the flash was fitted with Velcros for the color Gels. I will paint it White so it will reflect important lights. Same thing with other designs of brackets the tightening-screw to hold the umbrella will eventually dent the umbrella-rods.....

I have the Witstro AD360 and AD180 flashes, and they have fallen off the light stands while using cold shoe mounts several times, breaking bulbs twice. With a lot of upcoming outdoor shoots this summer, I needed a better way of mounting the strobes, and this is it. The Bowens mount is far more secure and much sturdier than cold show mounts, and has the added benefit of expanding which light modifiers you can use. I used one for a couple hours during a lake shoot on an exceptionally windy Nebraska day, and it held up perfectly. I only have one complaint, which is why I'm not giving it five stars. Adjusting the tilt should be easier and allow for smaller increments of adjustment. Otherwise, this is pretty much perfect, and far, far better than trusting a cold shoe.

I like this bracket very much, I ordered 3 already and thinking of ordering more. The Nikon SB910 has bulge contacts at the tip of its head, you have to fully open bracket opening to pass the Nikon SB-910 head. After the head tip is passed you can screw down the bracket size to fit the SB-910 with no problems at all.I had been looking for a viable solution for mounting my Quantum Qflash units as well as my Nikon Speedlights that was both light, easy to use and not as expensive as some of my mounting rings. These fit the bill exactly. I can mount the Qflash unit, attach an accessory like an umbrella, snoot, or grid with no problems. The product swivels and adjusts well. I would recommend them to a friend.

Holds the flash securely, with no stress on the flashes hotshoe. Fit's the softbox well. I can angle it now without worry about stress on the shoe. The ability to just insert an umbrella is also nice. At this price point, what's not to love about it - especially when there isn't anything I don't like about it. I've heard others complain about the large handle bumping up against the softbox but it's easy to just pull the springloaded mechanism out and re-angle it (takes about 3/4 sec). I think people that complain about that don't realize they can do this.
