The tiny, very fast acting fuse is in the testing circut only when the meter is used in the 10 amp test mode. If you blow this fuse it is important to replace it with an exact replacement. They are relatively expensive ($20 or so) but are very necessary for proper protection of the meter. They are extremely fast and very precisely calibrated. Look for a Fluke dealer for replacements, or contact the Mfgr. see less

It's plenty accurate for general use (it's a portable meter not a cal standard). I use it all the time and I'm very happy with it. I would not trust the light, humidity, or temperature measurements (not accurate). But voltage, current, resistance, etc all seem to be very good (and I do own lab gear and cal standards).

It does have fuses, they are two (2). One of 600mA and one of 10A.

Not quite sure what you mean; however there is a "hold" feature.

I don't get what do you mean by "manal"

Approx. 440mv on lowest range to approx 200 mv on highest meg ohm. That may be affected be impedance of whatever your reading however.

I own a true RMS clamp meter and MS8910 SMD tester. I've been very happy with them and based on the quality of those meters I bought this one. By comparison the MS8229 is plasticky and cheap. The case has hard sharp rough edges along the molding and the sockets for the test leads are very rough, but I do like the test leads. The meter lights up the test lead sockets required for the currently selected measurement until the leads are inserted. It beeps loudly at you if the leads are plugged into the wrong socket. Some may like this feature but I wish I could turn it off. The continuity beeper isn't latched, so it makes a scratching sound over the beep rather than the solid beep from the MS2108 and MS8910. I'd rate the meter as slightly disappointing. I'll probably keep it because I bought it for the temperature measurement and I have better equipment for other measurements that matter (Fluke and Rigol).
