It will work with electric-acoustic guitars that have the ability to plug into an amplifier. I use it with my headphones to practice without disturbing anyone. It's great for traveling, don't have to lug your amplifier around. Hope this helps.

it has a gain button so you can adjust the amount of distortion.

You need the headphones to hear it. They are the speakers.

Probably won't get the results you want. Vox makes one specifically for bass

If you mean "work" then yes, but it clips at higher volume for guitar so I'm thinking at low volume. I will try it w/ bass sometime.

Yes any will work with the small 1/8" stereo jack. But if you want good sound use one with good bass response. I like earcandy.

After spending nearly $40 on a FIOS headphone amp only to see it crap out early, I decided to go with this MUCH cheaper product. Not disappointed. I use it for bass guitar practice and it gets the job done more than adequately. And at this price point lasting more than a year is a bonus. I'm a little amazed at reviewers who complain about hiss and limited sound variety. You use a headphone amp to practice easily and quietly. Period. They all hiss and have a limited sound palette. Even the $40 versions.

Generally, I am pleased with GP-1. Clean signal to noise transfer, but overdrives quickly. I even played through a small amplified speaker. Sounds fine for practice. Is handy on trips with the gig bag. This a rock amp; Marshall-esce. My Fender Strat drives it straight into rock tones even with guitar volume down. With my Squier Buttescotch Blonde Tele I get a nice bluesy sound at low gain, maybe 2 to 3 on gain knob. I would like breakup to start at 5. Tone output at max seems to get brighter than actual signal. Maybe just my ears. But sounds fine between 3 and 6. I mostly play clean to blues. So I would have liked more headroom in the gain. So I will probably look for a more suitable amp. It gets 4 stars because it has clean signal to noise performance but lacks enough headroom.

I like this thing. The only complaint I have with it is that when it is plugged into the guitar the controls are kind of upside down and not really user friendly. Great idea being able to plug earphones and an auxiliary device to practice though. I thought the price was reasonable.
