yes, it will be able to support a heavier camera than the one i currently use --canon eos-20d
By EDWARD DOUGLAS on March 21, 2018
Im sure you can buy one extra from a 3rd party company but I dont know for sure
By Scott on February 28, 2018
It can't support much of anything. The legs broke within 6 months, rendering it useless. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!
By Mikey says on February 8, 2018
Truly, I don't know. I would probably buy extra one made by the same company. But I don't know what other quick release plates would fit in there.
By Mariana Gorrin on January 19, 2018
Yes and you can adjust how much movement the base will have by turning a thumbnut located at the bottom. You can tighten it so that it's completely rigid or unscrew it to gain a good range of movement. The legs are a bit useless though if your setup is on the heavier side; anything over two or three pounds probably.
By Djentlemandj on December 22, 2017
There is a plastic ring at the bottom of the monopod that you need to tighten. The monopod will stand if it is not extended all the way up and the camera is not too heavy.

I took this on a three-day shoot for a travel series and was pretty impressed. My only complaint with it is that the grease from inside the fluid head does leak out and it's annoying to get it on your hands and clothes while shooting. Other than that if you make sure everything is screwed in correctly then it's very steady! I used my Canon 80D with a battery grip and variety of lens on it. And with all of that I could still confidently walk away from it without worrying it would fall over. Even when I attached audio equipment it still stayed very steady.

Consigliato.

Yunteng VCT-288 Photography Tripod Monopod WIth Fluid Pan Head Quick Release Plate And Unipod Holder for Canon Nikon DSLR Cameras Purchased this to support a Panasonic FZ1000 which proved to be a bad idea. Overall it's pretty decent but proved unstable on carpet when using the extended feet alone for support. However, While this isn't quite at the level of the Rangers product Rangers 57" Ultra Compact and Lightweight Aluminum Tripod with 360° Panorama Ball head, ideal for travel and work which I also purchased; as a monopole or for a smaller camera this is a good buy. It also has proven handy for supporting a calibration microphone for Home Theatre tweaking and works better then a full a-frame tripod since there is much lower surface area that can cause unwanted near-field reflections and pollute the acoustic signal emanating from the loudspeakers. This application proved valuable and because it's really quick to set-up and store in the included bag it has a new task assignment.

This monopod was better than what I was expecting. The head is "fluid" but not very good, it is made of pretty cheap plastic and the plate seems really awful... It will get you by in a pinch but I doubt it will hold up very long used day in day out. I scraped the.plastic head and went with a Manfrotto XPRO fluid head. Luckily the head is removable. This puppy is VERY lightweight. Which can be a good thing if you are not using a heavy rig. The foldable legs are neat, you can actually tighten the bottom or less it swivel. I can set down the monopod to make slight adjustments or change a lens but be cautious. Overall this is a great photo set up and a decent video mono, but if moneys not an option go with a heaver one for sure!

Had 12 shoots from March to June and the Monopod itself has been great until the middle of June. The lowest of the 3 extension clamps has snapped... if I could find a monopod in my budget that I can attach the feet to without purchasing the whole set again, I would. The feet at the bottom are still great, although they give a little by getting loose over time. I wish I knew if the quick release plate that comes on top of the fluid head was a standard size or not. The cork on top was the first thing to start to show wear and tear. I just "modge podged" it back on and it's been good ever since. I still consider this a great but for the price point... I would LOVE to find a replacement monopod that I can attach my "feet" and fluid head to... in a similar price range.

Used to mount tracking beacons for my HTC Vive VR headset. They work however they are quite fiddly to position as turning it one direction will start to unscrew a piece and this makes it unstable, there is though a trick to making these adjustments as its not much of an issue now I have done it a few times. They are reasonably stable, however there is quite a bit of give in the feet and at the base joint, this makes it a bit unstable and I'm constantly checking that they're not about to fall over.

Nice little monopod for the price. I thought I would use this in auxiliary to my tripod, but I've come to really like the head and ease of quick set ups so it has replaced my tripod. It is sturdy enough that I can set up my Coolpix P600 and step back to wait for a shot. The instructions are all in Japanese, so prepare to play with all the knobs to figure out what they do. Also, I lost the screw that attached the long handle on my second hike with this product, so I had to hit up the hardware store. Airport security wasn't too fond of it, so if you carry it on make sure you put it somewhere that they can get to it easily.

I was so pleasantly surprised how well this mono pod worked on my DSLR camera! It has the unlocking feature so you can remove it and easily screw in any camera. Then easily snap it in place on the head. The feet unscrew so when I traveled a couple weeks ago I removed the feet and it was easier to transport on my camera bag, you can use it with feet or not but don't depend on it to support a camera unless under an ounce as this is not what mono pods are designed for. The feet are an added bonus! For the price you cannot go wrong with this well built mono pod! It's amazing quality and durable for the price!

This is heck of a good monopod. I love its fluid head that allows me to do smooth panning while video-shooting. It is very light, easy and quick to take out and put away. I use it with Nikon D7000 and it holds it just fine, so it is fairly sturdy. The three legs on the bottom are just a plus to this monopod. You can fold them and use it as a solid monopod, or you can unfold them and use is as a tripod. Again, it is very convenient when you need to take it somewhere where you need to quickly move around yet you want to have sharp, clear pictures. I absolutely recommend this monopod.

It survived a full day of shooting with a digital handheld video camera. With this light-weight camera, you can definitely make it free-stand, but I wouldn't walk away from it, because it is still a monopod after all. It works as a monopod should: quick to collapse and expand, fluid motion, reverse-able handle, excellent height. There was some leakage of a very sticky grease around the head and I noticed a part which was loose. I cranked down on it and it didn't give me any further trouble. Everything still moved well.

Nice entry level monopod for the price. Unfortunately it was shipped in it's non-padded, off-the-shelf product box wrapped in thin gray plastic wrapping and packing tape so it got lightly dinged in transit. Nice foam grip. The fluid head alone is worth the price. It's multiple sections make it a versatile camera support system you can convert into a table top tripod including it's own fluid head when needed. I ran a full test with my DSLR. It is light and comfortable to carry. It's nice to be able to set it on it's chicken feet but don't walk away from your gear - for a second. This monopod is of light construction so don't treat it like a crowbar. Treat it like your camera. I don't mind being seen in public with it. I recommend this monopod to any photographer on a tight budget.

wow this was cheap as hell.. Works super good with light cams.. cant leave it alone.. Unless you want to give yourself a heart attack.. Fell within 15 mins.. cost.. $400.. I use it, but never EVER EVER turn your back.. You will pay.. its going to pose a problem with this type of pod.. do I lay my cam down? Do I take off the cam? Do I leave it for a sec?,, price is awesome and the action on the head is sweet for the price. knobs tighten well and the handle goes on and off easily for different shoots.. If u want the best cheapest to try this out, this is a good one

This rig is great. Is it the most heavy duty piece of equipment in the world, no but then again I shoot wedding videos and having light equipment is a must for me. It extends high enough for me to get really great high shots by propping the legs against my stomach. The head is smoother than the Benro head as well. Overall this thing is a steal for the price they are selling it for. One last thing some people are complaining about not being able to let it stand on its own. It will stand on its own if your legs are in the proper position but let's face it... It's a monopod. The legs are there to make your shots more stable. If you want to stand it up on its own get a tripod.

Sicuramente consigliato!

Exceeded my expectations of it. I use this with a Canon 600D for videography and I have to say the panning and tilting of the head is an absolute joy. The construction feels solid and durable for my current usage. The locking mechanism of the three-legged base is brilliant as it ensures that the legs are locked in the vertical or horizontal position as desired, unlike another tripod I have recently purchased and regretted. The one downside for me is that it could do with extra length as I am a tall person. Highly recommended; especially for the going price!

I am using this with a Canon G30 camcorder to record youth soccer games. The head is smooth and excellent for video. I hold the monopod with my left hand and use my right hand to control zoom using the external remote mounted on the handle. The quick release system works great and the tripod never gave me any issues. However, don't expect the tripod to hold any SLR or decent sized camcorder all by itself. In fact, when I'm recording I step on two of the three tripod feet to keep the monopod steady when panning. When not recording, I lay it on the ground or lean against a wall. The height is perfect at my eye level over parents sitting in front of me. Strongly recommended for photos or camcorder use.
