This timer/remote/intervalometer works well enough. It is the same design as other China-manufactured remotes being sold under various brand names on . (this is the second one I've owned; the first was Polaroid-branded) What sets this variation apart from some of the others is the inclusion of a 2.5mm TRS (tip/ring/sleeve) jack. This allows the cable to be replaced if it develops a short. It was this scenario that sent my Polaroid remote into the tech recycle bin, as its cable was hardwired. If you buy this item and plan to use it in the field, I would recommend that you keep a spare cable on hand. Compatible cables of various lengths can be found right here on

The wired remote works great and is easy to use. I purchased this brand so that I could use it with multiple cameras. I have a Canon 7D and the remote came with the cable for that camera model. I also have an older Canon XS that I purchased a separate cable for. The buttons have a nice feel to them and the remote feels of decent quality. Setting the timer is easy and intuitive once you read the included manual. One item of note that's not listed on the description for the product is the battery life. According to the box, it's "Approximately two months of continuous shooting with a delay of 5 min, an exposure time of 4 min 56 s, and an interval of 5 min - use of the illuminator will reduce battery life."
