Yes but you can also remove the center pole and insert it upside down to be able to mount the camera underneath the tripod. Just remember to rotate your image right side up when importing to Lightroom or copying to your computer depending on whether you shoot a raw or jpeg file type

It should normally work unless the camera has big zoom lens. Then maybe it still might work.

Tripod max height: 1565mm / 61.61in. It can be placed on a desk, and it works with canon rebel t3i.

This product is really great it feels super sturdy and did not budge when I had almost ten pounds of weight on it. The locking mechanism for the legs is really great and super tight but easy to undo. The ball head is awesome but it can start to slide around once your load gets heavy. I love the fact that you can take of the leg and use it as a mono pod it is way better than brining a tripod and mono pod together. This is just a really great product and I would recommend it to any one who wants a better tripod. But the one thing that I do not like is the pan on the head. It is not smooth and I will often find my self unscrewing the head when I try to pan. But to solve this problem I recommend the HuiHuang Pro YT-950 Tripod Action Fluid Drag Head Video Camera For DSLR Shooting Filming + HuiHuang USB LED free gift It works and it will make the tripod better for filming. I would definitely recommend it.

I love the look, the feel, and the versatility of the Q999. It looks like an expensive tripod with the geometric etching on the legs, foam grips (on two of the legs), and a smooth turning, 360 degree ball head. Ball heads are expensive. So, that alone was a great selling point for me. When I first took it out of the box, it felt very sturdy. After extending it to its full height, I put my Nikon D3300 with a short zoom lens on it and it felt secure. I wasn't worried at all that it would tip over. The legs are very sturdy. In one of the videos I watched for the Q999, the young man put his entire weight on the tripod. He was swinging from it! I would advise against doing that. :-) One of the big reasons I bought this tripod was the quick release plate/mount feature. I liked that it has a ring attached to the plate to quickly screw the mount to the bottom of my camera. (I think you need to use a coin on many of the quick release mounts to screw the plate to the camera.) On the bottom of the plate are two metal heads that will "catch" the plate (and my camera!) from falling if I didn't screw the mount securely onto the ball head. Love that extra measure of security! It's a versatile tripod that can be lowered or raised for the shortest person in your family to the tallest. It can be used as a tabletop tripod. You can shoot low to the ground by flipping the center column around as pictured above. And, of course, it's great to have the versatility of converting one of the legs to a monopod (once the center column is attached to it). One of the other features I was looking for in a tripod was its portability and this tripod fits that bill. It's compact and relatively light weight. It comes with a carrying bag and a small bag that goes over the ball head for extra protection while traveling. It also comes with a kind of small 'carrying pouch' (with a hole) that you can hook onto your belt and put one of the legs through it and carry it that way. I watched one video, where the man used the carrying pouch to stabilize the monopod, so instead of putting the monopod on the ground, he anchored it to the pouch (attached to his belt). Great idea! I looked at numerous tripods on Amazon and read dozens of reviews! I didn't want to pay over $100 for a tripod, but I didn't want to be a cheapster either. This was a great middle ground. It has all the great features of an expensive tripod without the price. Before buying it, though, I went on YouTube to see if there was anything on the Q999 and I found several videos, but only a couple were in English. (Check out Scott Law's video on the Q999C, the carbon fiber version.) The other videos I watched were from Italy, France, Russia, China, and Indonesia. I turned the sound off since I wouldn't know what they were saying anyway. Just wanted to watch it for the tripod's features. They sold me on the Q999. One last thing, the Q999 is under other brand names, but the Andoer Q999 is the least expensive. You can pay up to $35 more for essentially the same thing if you go with a different brand. Also, this was a Prime merchandise so I received it in 2 days. Some of the other brands do not offer Prime 2-day service, so that was an added bonus. RECOMMEND it.

Okay I bought this to use as flash tripods. Thought I was buying a "made in China" tripod that could at least hold a flash. Earlier I bought a OneFoto that looked similar to this product. I think these are better!!! They come with a bag to protect ball head and very nice bag for the tripod. This is not your normal "Made in China" equipment.
