It's really good! I love it. It is really strong and it gives such beautiful depth to the sound. it gets better and better depending on the quality of the wood your guitar is make of. There is one issue i guess which is the battery. cheap quality batteries don't really last that much.

I know it's meant for a guitar. I know it's right in the name. I know you're probably going to use it on a guitar, and so why should anything I have to say matter, right? Well, it probably doesn't, but this is the internet and I'm going to say it anyway. I used this piezo mic and preamp to amplify a tibetan singing bowl. I wanted a preamp that would not cause a high frequency feedback loop, and would retain a good amount of bass and depth from the mic. In these regards the GT-5 was very good. I had a bit of volume loss issues when I ran it through two effects pedals, but still enough to get the job done. I was glad that it retained a good clarity of sound, but I needed a pedal for extra reverb. The onboard reverb is pretty good, but it definitely loses a lot of the bass. I imagine it would be better on a guitar. The chorus effect is kind of subtle, at least I found it so, but gave a good little vibrato.

I ordered this acoustic guitar preamp system to install in one of my guitars. I was pleased with the product's rating and the price, so I decided to buy it. Since I have installed preamp systems like this before, I was aware of the fact that it might not come with a good guide or a template to cut out the hole with. As I had suspected, this kit did not come with one either. I had to make all the careful measurements and alignments myself, which took a while. Besides that, it sounded great once I completed the installation and I was pleased with the quality and the various sound options available on it.

Not bad. The effects are decent. The only thing I would change is to add a blend control. I like a long reverb tail but only a slight to moderate presence in the mix. On this the effects are all wet. To compensate for this, and to use it with things other than an acoustic guitar, I mounted this preamp in a plastic box. I have a 1/4 inch jack connected to a 2.5 mm plug which goes to the preamp. This basically turns this into something resembling a guitar effects pedal without the footswitch. This can either be patched into an effects loop or placed directly in the signal chain between your instrument and amp or mixer. I have an acoustic guitar amp with a vocal input that sounds horrid. I plugged a mic into this preamp and then to the mic input on the amp and it sounds a lot better after tweaking the EQ and adding just a little of the wide effect. The only problem I've had so far is there is a slight pulsing noise and I think it may have something to do with the pots that control the effects. <<

So far, I like it. I am not giving it 5 stars as it looks a bit plasticky and bulky (luckily, mine goes hidden behind a sofa). The switch is not soft and you need to apply a bit of pressure to switch it from connected to disconnected. I have charged my iPhone once and the USB seems to work fine. I found the holes in the back for wall mounting a bit difficult to understand. I had to ask how they work in here, to work it out. I simply do not understand why it doesn't come with normal holes where screws hook into. Apart from that, time will say, but in general I am happy with it.
