Pros:It reads cards only as they are inserted... no need to "safely remove hardware". It uses very little power so it won't drain your laptop battery. Cons:Not USB 2.0, making it slow to download photos, or copy MP3 to the card. Bottomline: It's a good buy for the price, but if you have to copy large files or many files, and is not patient, a better adpator USB
