What we have here is a mini wireless N transceiver. If you have a wireless router at home, you can make your PC wireless. No need for cable. It is used to connect any PC to a wireless network, up to and including ac. It is backwards compatible but it is only recommended if you have a usb3.0 port and a wireless ac router.

Pros: - compatible with Windows 8.1 (Big win for me) - good for searching - small in size - installs instant when plugged (no need for cd) - great value Cons: (not much) - when gaming, do not have multiple windows opened. causes lag - not great speed but very decent That is all! All I wanted to say is that I was siked when I got it because I really wanted a wifi adapter that could save me money and have decent internet speed. The first wifi adapter (before this one) wasnt compatible with Windows 8.1, but then when I saw that this connected instantly, I was so happy! Great deal and great decent speed. Love it! ...THANK YOU!

I bought this to run a desktop computer from the far side the house to my wireless router. It was simple plug and play. The speed isn't great but it's great for the price and for what I'm using it for. Works with both Windows and Linux straight out of the package. Also works great on a RasPi System. I would recommend.
