I was hoping I would have better luck than the others who reviewed this unit , but I also spent hours trying to get it to connect. The instructions don't help much - it is really just a pamphlet - and the two times I was able to hit upon the "magic" combination that projected an actual picture to the screen, it was a static display of my "third" monitor and I could find no way to get the windows application I wanted to project onto that screen. Deciding to try again after I upgraded my laptop from Windows 8.1 to 10, this time I had success! But was it worth it? I was able to "broadcast" video from my office - thirty feet to my 42" TV in my BR and the picture was watchable; but it was not as good quality as when I direct connected my laptop via an HDMI cable. After getting the connection sorted, I happily fell asleep watching "Cosmos" and when I woke in the morning it was still running episodes so I am confident that the device did not drop out during the 7 hours I was sleeping. In the morning I rebooted the PC to see how hard or easy it would be to reconnect. Unfortunately I had to go through the whole back and forth from office to BR pressing buttons to reset and changing PC settings until I again got a picture. Sooner or later, I am sure I would get this down to a few steps. but for me it is not worth it on a regular basis so this is just something that will be used infrequently. Plus, I sill have to consider that the dongle is going to have to be removed and reinstalled each time I want to watch PC Videos and that requires me to slip my (big) hand behind the wall mounted TV to try to install the dongle and USP power plug. My suggestion would be to wait and save money until you get a TV with built in WIFI and DLNA Support. Now that I think about it, my Blu-Ray player has WIFI...
