Yes, this will work on all the DJI phantoms, including original phantom, fc49, and phantom 2. You will have to buy a few cables to connect it, but it will screw right on.

Iit will it's all self contained .

Yes, but I suggest watching some YouTube so you know what you are getting into. You are going to have to open up your phantom to wire it and then you are going to need to connect to a PC to enable it as well as the tilt control on your controller. It's not that hard and that is what I did when I had mine.

Most, but there is one wire with connectors that is too short for my phantom I that I had to extend

I started with 7.4 v and it worked ok. Recently updated to 9v. Works better with independent power source on my drone.
By Rick Swainston on April 21, 2018
I am not sure, but I would speculate a battery that would only be powering the gimbal, would need to be 1,000-1500 mah for that time.

This gimbal unit delivers the steadiness I need for aerial photography with my GoPro. Required opening the Phantom's shell and making solder connections. The light weight unit is perfectly balanced for the GoPro Hero 3+ Black. I had to order and wait a month for connector wires of adequate length. Walkera ships connectors that are way too short to reach between their gimbal unit and the controller on the DJI Phantom 1.1. Requires soldering skills. Too bad Walkera doesn't include enough wire to do the job right out of the box. Once it all came together, the unit performed perfectly, keeping the camera remarkably steady. Unfortunately, the clearance between the camera and the pitch motor is so small that the camera has to be dismounted after every flight to access the USB port for downloading files and recharging the camera -- a ritual I wish I could avoid. The plastic mounting cage for the camera requires a hex key to screw or unscrew the two screws that hold the cage together. Seems like a hinged quick-release system would save a lot of time. But for the price, this is a winner.

Have 2 Of these they worked out of the box wired into chopper with a 11.1 connected JST and in was on working within seconds. it needs to be balanced and level at start. After that my results aren't bad. Limited jitters or jello, good horizon tracking all around good gimbals. but the plastic is a fragile thing.

This product does work with a Go Pro Hero 2 with 7/8" long mounting screws through the walkera bracket from an Ace hardware store. I found the same threaded screws but longer with a slotted head in their micro screws hardware/screw pull out drawer section. Size on my thread checker for metric was: 2mm diameter (.079 inch diameter) pitch was coarse .4(threads per inch). However you could get a standard screw size 2, 64 threads per inch, fine thread to work too. Bring your walkera bracket along to verify! 7/8 inch length screw is plenty long enough for using the hero2 in the bracket. As others have discussed, the mounting plate will need to be rotated in order to not interfere with dji battery door. while reversing the plate use caution when removing the rubber antivibration connectors since they can split easy. You will also need to buy 30cm (11.8") male/female servo extension wires to route the gimbal control wires to a dji phantom 1.1.1 with naza2 as follows: Naza2 F1 connector to the walkera's roll and F2 connects to the pitch on the walkera. You can remove the servo extension connector pins to route through the dji's air vents next to the led lights on the underside and not have to drill holes in your dji. Buy a "jst"connector male/female to connect the dji 1.1.1 power lead to the power connector of the walkera and give you the ability to disconnect if needed in the future. Video Performance with the gimbal is stable no jello effect and looks great with the hero 2. You can set the limits of the control angle of hero2 through the dji software gimbal section while the hero2 is installed in the gimbal. Make sure your naza F connectors are correct to the walkera or the gimbal will just start twisting the camera around with no control Only down side to using the hero2 is its weight on the gimbal. When abruptly changing your flight direction in the air, the weight of the hero 2 can cause the gimbal/camera to swing down and then reposition, but when flown within limits it functions stable and the walkera gyro does its job with the hero2. Recommended for the price, function, and it's lightweight. Do expect to spend some time installing and testing everything though.

I converted my phantom 1.1.1 to the phantom 1.5 and with the phantom 2 shell, this gimbal works great. It started right up out of the box, I set this up so it runs off of the drones main battery. I can control the pitch by just using the cable givin and having it plugged into the "pit" spot on the gimbal and the F2 on the naza. You will need to take it apart to setup the pitch. I love this gimbal because it is light weight and does what I need for cheap $$ while still providing smooth video footage and pictures that possibly the zenmuse delivers.

Installed on a DJI Phantom FC40 with gopro3+. I had to mess with how the plate mounts to the bottom of the quad as this is sort of a "universal" use gimbal and the main battery door is obstructed when installed in standard orientation. The rubber dampeners needed to be popped out and the top plate rotated 180 degrees. I opted to use separate battery rather than tap into the external lead. Seems to work great, I haven't tried the remote tilt option yet. The "tilt" control cable isn't very long, you'll need to get an extension before you attempt to wire this feature.

After 6 hours of monkeying I was finally able to get it to work on my Syma X8G. It works so well. The footage is spectacular and still. Highly recommend this but I wish the company would provide batteries or at least say what type of batteries are required in the description. I ended up hard wiring it to my drone.
