I assumed that the plate fits on a Cullmann tripod ... But nothing there, it has about 1mm of air. Too bad. The quality is what you would expect at this price, so there is no deduction. But compared to the Cullmann quick release, I do not have the problem here that the "snapper" keeps the removable plate clean, because metal is reaching for metal. If it comes loose, there is still the spring-loaded pin there, which prevents it from opening (ie camera can not fall), but the mechanism does not keep clean and then shakes the camera a bit ...

I needed something like this for a 'trail camera' in the garden. Having determined where the best view for the camera was I needed a quick release for viewing indoors and to facilitate battery changes. Once secured to the bottom of the camera it is great and speeds things up to simplify these tasks. The spirit levels are somewhat pointless - they are far too small to register accurately - but I can do without these.

I bought 3 of these mounts to use for quick attaching cameras to mount points on my motorcycles. They are bulky, but seem to be holding up. I did not have the problem with the levels reported by another user, and they have proven adequate for setting up the cameras in the adjustable mounts, so they come out "level" and pointed in the correct direct each time they are mounted. But, I did have a problem with the spring on lever. This has been reported on other similar mounts sold under other brand names on Amazon; the spring simply falls out. It goes between two depressions, one on the main lever, one on the lock lever, and there is NOTHING to hold it in place, other than the gap between the levers staying small enough to keep it in. Theory says that gap should not get to be "too big", but... the first mount I pulled out of the bag had enough slop in the pivot screw that the spring popped out. If I had not been expecting it to do that, I might have lost it on the floor. My fix was to immediately super glue the ends into their "cups". With this, two of these mounts have managed a few hundred miles of abuse, attached to the handlebars of two different motorcycles. I doubt that it is a permanent fix, though.

Really good item. Loses 1 point because the PU70 plate is thinner at the base and the screw bottoms early on my Pentax K-1. This is easily fixed with a washer under the screw head or if you make a gasket to go under the camera. Or just use the PU50... Other to that this seems nicely made and has a nice range of width adjustment on the thumbscrew clamp. The action of which is smooth. If my camera had a deeper tripod screw hole it would be 5 stars. But there will be a fair few K-1 users
