I got this fishing pole for my son, because he needed a smaller pole with a covered reel that would help avoid tangles. So far it is working great. In his opinion, here are the best things about this kit: #1 - it is all his and has a cool looking pattern on the rod. #2 - it has its own case with all the gear in it, so he doesn't get it mixed up with daddy's stuff. In my opinion, the best things about this kit are pretty similar. The entire kit is light enough that it can easily be carried by him, and remembering the old times when I used to go fishing with my grandpa - where everything was his and touching anything risked getting yelled at if it wasn't ok - this is huge. The fishing experience is nicer when my little adventurer can have stuff that is all his, even though I will let him use anything he wants. The fact that the pack is very small and lightweight makes it easy to stow away as well, or carry back from fishing when his enthusiasm has shifted elsewhere. There are velcro straps inside the bag which secure the rod, and mesh bags to secure the included tackle and reel.

This kids fishing pole set is perfect for our family - we're a family the loves to lose things. This set comes with a bag that easily fits the rod, reel, and even has a container for all of the flies and hooks. Containers inside containers is good for us to stay organized. The bag makes it easy to find and store in our closet, and it doesn't get tangled up with our other poles. My 5 year old can't wait to take it fishing with us this weekend! I'm excited that the bottom of the rod is cork, so it is really lightweight. I'm now looking forward to fishing with the kids instead of dreading finding all of the supplies and then losing half of it in the process. Looking forward to getting another for my other child!

This is a great combo for kids to start fishing. It comes with everything you need and is simple for beginners to learn how to cast. In fact this is the type of reel I started learning on before moving onto spinning and conventional gear. You press the button and hold down and release to cast. When you crank it automatically engages the reel. You can also click it down to engage freespool, and then pressing the button will lock the line in place till you release. Overall great price and combo for any young kid getting into fishing.

I go fishing with 3 little kids, and this all-in-one kit is perfect! It has everything you need to fish in a convenient carry pack. I was most surprised with the quality of the telescopic rod. Most rods (99%) made for kids look like toys, and are not really equipment an adult would use. The build quality of this pole, I would actually use. It's literally a miniturized version of an adult's pole.

Packaged arrived within stated delivery time. The fishing package fits securely into the provided zip up bag. The telescopic pole is descent quality however I’m a little skeptical of the eyelets and how durable they will be. The reel has a little weight to it and seems durable. The drag and crank worked great. I was able to cast 30 yards and retrieve easily. My granddaughter was very happy and she can’t wait to go fishing.
