What is the ideal type of solder to use? Type and gauge. In case I can't reuse the original solder points.

  • We have 12 drones/ quadcopters. These syma x5c motors are super easy just take the 3-5 screws out bend open the case. Take out the gear housing w/ motor. Splice and fly. Soldering would take forever. This is my best advice. Good luck :) (these motors and gears work great best replacement pack)

I have the blue symantec x5c explorers quad. i fletcher it into the tree, & guess i burned one of the gears out, is this everything i need to fix?

  • Should fix your problem. These parts will replace both motor and gears. Just be sure you use the same a or b motor that you take out(color coded either black or white). One other thing, this assumes you didn't burn out the motherboard when you hit the tree.

Motor is working but the drone is not going up for some reason. I have just changed the right front motor. Any guess why it is not flying?

  • Make certain the motor has the same wire colors as the one you replaced and that the wires are connected in the correct order, so it spins in the correct direction. Next, you need to put the correct prop that is appropriate for the direction it rotates. Diagonal to Diagonal is the same.
