This is a professional vertical battery grip for Sony Alpha A7Ⅱ A7RII. It can replace Sony original VG-C2EM Vertical Grip. This Vertical Grip also can hold two NP-FW50 Lithium batteries-effectively doubling your shooting capacity. It provides improved flexibility, not only helps steady your hand in both vertical and horizontal positions, but also provides a stable platform for shooting portraits, still-life shots and other subjects requiring vertical format.

This battery grip can provide redundant controls for key functions and a shutter release that is located right at your fingertips when using the camera in the vertical position-eliminating the need for the contorted balancing act often required accessing the camera controls when shooting vertically.

Features:
With vertical-shooting function.
Two lithium batteries can be put into the grip, which make it have double power.
With AF(auto focus)/MF(manual focus)/AEL(AE lock)functions.
C1 custom function.
C2 custom function.
C3 Custom Function/Amplification Function.
With two wheels which are convenient for operation.
2.4GHz wireless channel remote control, which is adopted FSK signal mode, can more efficiently guarantee the speed, distance and stability.
Remotely control the camera shutter from 100 meters away. In the open space, the remotest distance of the remote control can reach 100 meters.
Support screen lock function.
Support lock display mode.
Use low-power LCD screen.

Q

Its work with sony a7r 2 ?

A
  • Yes it fits just like the expensive sony grip on the A7r2 remote even works; only 2 issues first is that my really right stuff "L" bracket does not fit with the battery grip and I have switched to a RRS universal baseplate the 2nd is that the covering does not match the camera exactly(a non issue for me).

This battery grip, while adding some heft to the camera, makes it feel like it belongs in your hand. The A7ii is already a small camera with mediocre battery life. If you're going to bring extra batteries, why not get one of these? The grip has an additional shutter button for when you're using it in portrait mode, works natively with the camera so your body knows how much battery is left in each battery, and has some additional custom buttons as well. The included remote shutter is just awesome. I was just outside doing 2 minute long exposures of some stars and it worked great. It takes some fumbling to change the timing on the remote shutter since it can program in delays, duration, and interval, but once you have it set you just hit play and the camera obeys. I didn't think I'd use the battery grip, but I think I'll have to find a bigger bag to fit this into. Well worth the extra heft.

This grip is worth the price just for the Grip and feel let alone the expanded battery capacity the auto switching to the second battery works seamless and the A7 2 displays status of both battery's in the viewfinder , the supplied remote us a nice touch for this price point as well . keep in mind you will need a wall charger as the Grip disables the USB charging feature , The Wasabi charger available on Amazon works great and comes with 2 batterys and a 12 volt plug for car use as well as the standard 110 volt plug , Grip and Wasabi kit for just over 100 bucks is a Win Win .

Works exactly as described. This is the second Meike grip I've owned and both have been great! I am a professional photographer but that doesn't mean I'm rolling in money. I need gear that works consistently and I will use the lowest cost item that provides that for me. I don't use cheap gear and honestly I was leery with my first Meiki purchase. I've only had a few occasions where the grip C1 button failed to operate. Hopefully Meiki continues to make quality products at a low cost. I'd still prefer the Sony grip as I am sure it will outlast the Meiki grip but lenses are what make money, not grips and my money is better spent on quality glass. The finish is a bit off compared to the camera but that isn't a concern. The function is great! I do not use the remote so I cannot speak to it's function. I shoot portraiture mainly with some wedding work. Hope this helps someone. ONE LAST NOTE - I had read that this grip was and another low cost grip were made by the same people....THEY ARE NOT. This grip is made by Meiki. The "other" brands have different battery doors (look closely) and are much more cheaply made. I had ordered the "other" brand to avoid the remote. I thought I was getting this grip with a different name and no remote. I just didn't want to waste a product if I wasn't going to use it. The "other" brand was very flimsy, very thin plastic and was missing options that this grip has.

If you own a mirrorless camera, than you are aware that battery life is not the greatest. I purchased this for photo shoots that may go longer than expected and for greater handling when shooting in portrait orientation. I have used this grip for a while now and have no complaints with it. To keep the review short, below are pros and cons of this product: Pros - Cheaper than the OEM brand - Extends battery life - Provides extra stability/control when shooting in the vertical orientation - Rubber footing. They provided a rubber sole on the grip that prevents the camera from skidding if you but it down - Remote comes with it for wireless control (I haven't used this, so I can't comment) - Great handling Cons - The on/off switch can be confusing. If you look at some of the pictures of this product, you will notice that there's an on/off switch on it. This switch will either activate the button on the grip of make them inert. This is either a pro or a con depending on how you look at it. To me, when you put on a battery grip on your camera, it is for you to use it. So of course I want my buttons to work. But if you forgot to turn it in on, the camera will still power on. You will be able to take photos on the camera using the camera's shutter button as usual, but the shutter button on the battery grip will not work. You will have to turn it on on the battery grip for it to work. The only reason, why I can see being a pro is a means to prevent accidental clicks. So be aware of this, this can cause you to miss critical shots if you are not careful. Other than that, I think that is a great buy for the money. Enjoy.

no issues at all, just that changing battery from grip is slightly trickier than SONY version, but for the price you can't complain.
