This is a basic instrument, but seemed well made and sounds just like a saxophone. I got one because I've never had a chance to learn a reed instrument, and it's great practice to just pull this out every once in a while and fine-tune sound and technique. My kids (aged 5 and 6) got a sound out of it immediately - a rather loud sound, but still impressive! Great price, great instrument, and a carry case: I have no regrets.

This plays in the key of C not the key of Eb. Only difference from the xaphoon is this uses an alto reed. I prefer the tenor reed myself. I knocked it one star because of the description, and also one because of the very high pressure required on the reed. I may adjust my ratings later based on the title fixes and getting more used to the reed. I have both a maui pocket sax and the chinese littlesax. I really was wanting one tuned in Eb. As with any reed instrument you have to learn the way each mouthpiece needs to be inserted and held to be played. When I found the right resting point for my front teeth and adjusted the angle of this mini sax I actually get a brassy sound with frankly decent intonation using the stock reed. This mouthpiece doesn't allow you much in the way of slop, not as much as the xaphoon does.

After getting in the mail somewhere. A replacement was sent. I'll be hitting up YouTube since all the instructions are in Chinese. Thankfully the chord chart is pictures. After all the snafu's and fubar's to get it here. I am happy with the product. Even got a few squeals out of it in the first few minutes.
