Did you just purchase this? If so are you plugging the usb of device into a wall charger or the usb on the back of your tv...some television usb ports are not powered and will cause device to shut down a few seconds after trying to start...if this is the case try using a wall outlet

My experience has been overheating, I keep losing signal at least 50 % of the time. My internet speed is 300/20 so I have plenty of that. I hope this helps you in making a decision. If you use a small fan on it that helps from overheating. When I first bought this product it worked great.

Yes, you can hook up the mouse as t has a standard USB and an OTG interface, by the way, usb hub is not needed as the OTG has trsfer line.
