*** Attention! Do NOT buy this flash from China/Hong Kong. EACHSHOT has offered these flashes through the Amazon warehousing system (Fulfillment by Amazon) which enables easy returns and Prime support. Do NOT buy without these features enabled. EACHSHOT can get them: tell them to get more (whether you want Shanny, Yonguo, etc). You MAY have to click on, "This item is available from other sellers" to see that Shanny offers them with Prime support. *** I've owned a Yongnuo YN600EX-RT and now this. So far... 1. The foot is MUCH better than the YN600EX-RT (YN). It's much more secure. 2. The case is perfect. The YN one was too small. The Velcro barely caught. 3. Wireless OPTICAL works. The YN would NOT function in A:B or A+B (it worked in Commander mode ONLY). 4. The YN had a shadow in the bottom 1/4 of all my images at portrait distance and closer. I'm thinking now that the zoom wasn't working at all or was off. 5. The YN firmware update process was totally broken. We'll have to wait to see how Shanny does theirs (the add-on radio receiver has a USB port for updates). 6. The YN would not turn off after I attached it to my 60D's hot shoe. Clearly my unit was defective--which is why I sent it back. OK, this flash does NOT have radio "built-in". You MUST use the add-on radio receiver module (due early 2015) which I prefer. If the radio dies, you don't lose the entire FLASH: you can easily replace the receiver. I've been VERY happy with this flash so far. The screen is more pixelated than either the YN or Canon, but it's much easier on my aging eyes. I haven't had any issues with any exposures and it seems to work fine with my YN622C/TX triggers. FYI: The HSS is limited to the minimum manual power of 1/128; so if you get an over exposure in minimum manual, you will get the same result in HSS. The buttons/turn dial are less refined that the Canon--no doubt--but ~$125.00 USD, you essentially get a VERY powerful (GN 62) 580 EX II in a 600 EX body that you can add a radio receiver to later. You really can't beat that. Get one. If you happen to get a defective unit--it happens with everything--don't be a stupid child and give it a ONE star rating. Just send it back--it's easy--then buy another. http://flashhavoc.com/shanny-sn600sc-speedlite-review/ https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=uxbbBy1RA_U http://sperling-photography.com/2014/12/12/test-materiel-shanny-sn600sc/ (English | French)

I'm new to flash photography, and this is my first flash. I really enjoy this flash, it really puts out a lot of light. I like the articulation of the head, it makes it easy to bounce. i also use it off camera with the shanny e-ttl remote triggers. it works well with my soft box. The stand is pretty neat. The padded case is very nice. the lever lock hot shoe is nice for super quick on and off. I use the tomtop basics black high capacity rechargable batteries, and they last pretty well.

I almost returned this flash before getting to know it, because initially I could not adjust the exposure compensation setting to get ideal exposure. Right at zero it kept overexposing and left of zero (-) it would underexpose. I thought if it overexposed at zero then adding compensation would really be hot. Then I did one final test and went where I hadn't gone before, right at about (+1) I got what I was looking for, and then the flash would expose well from ten inches to thirty+ feet in one move without the need for any adjustment giving the same ideal result. In manual you have to press the (+/-) button to adjust output. I won't need manual while the flash is on camera anyway because TTL works so well. If you don't have a powerful, reliable and sophisticated yet easy to use flash at a bargain price get this one while you can. I did recommend this to a friend. Its worth more and deserves six stars. May the increase of knowledge also increase purpose. I later found that the setting of camera's flash exposure compensation impacts the flash's exposure compensation, and when well coordinated will deliver excellent results. If you're stuck in the "twilight zone" adjusting every exposure manually, step into the future, much to your relief you'll find that ... yes you can trust up to date modern technology.

This is a great flash at a great price. Get one before they realize it's worth more! I'm replacing a 430EX ii and wanted something more powerful. This fills the bill for a lot less money than the Canon 600. This does everything the Canon will. The build quality seems very high. The manual (if you want to call it that) is just a folded sheet with instructions written by a non English speaker (no idea why they do that). It's a bit of a challenge, but you can figure everything out. There also doesn't seem to be a web site for these folks. For the price though and the initial quality and functionality, I'd buy it again.

Everything positive others have said about this flash is true. I would say it actually has more output than the Canon 600rt and my exposures have been perfect, It integrates with the Canon optical trigger system perfectly as well. The one down side for me is it isn't compatible with the PocketWizard TT! and TT5 system, not even in manual mode. I don't have the basic triggers so I can't say if it will work with those or not but I suspect no. This is a big problem for me, but it's so inexpensive and works so well I want to keep it for on camera use.

I have used multiple speedlights from Canon, Yongnuo, and Sigma. This one has really impressed me! Of course the question is the long term ownership, but it doesn't matter because is costs only $120. You can buy 4 of these for the cost of one Canon 600-RT. The functionality is easy, the power is good, and it links to my Yongnuo 622C + 622C-TX system perfectly along with my Yongnuo YN568 EX II and Canon flashes. If you are on the mend for a good flash, pick this one up. The cost savings alone makes it worth the purchase not to mention the solid build quality.

This is a nice flash for the money! Build quality is better than I expected. It's 80% as nicely built as a Canon Speedlite. ETTL seems to work on a 6D. Almost all the in camera menu options work with this flash. Functions well as an optical master. Recycles very quickly and throws a lot of light. I don't yet trust it 100%. Reliability remains to be seen and ETTL seems spotty at higher ISOs. But I haven't found an obvious flaw yet. Much better than other cheap flashes I've tried. All in all, it's a great flash. 80% of a Canon at 20% of the price.

So far so good. I use this in my hotshoe on the 6d, and the camera reads this as a native Canon flash. meaning, you can control the flash from the camera, and while running ETTL, the flash will adjust to the lens focal length, going all the way out to 200mm. It does NOT have an internal radio like the Canon 600EXRT does, but its also less then 1/3 the price.

But, the flash came in the biggest & nicest box for a flash. The flash case/pouch is very high quality (good stitching & velcro) the plastic is more subdued/satin finish, not like some of the other flashes I've owned (vivitar, nissin, canon all glossy plastic). The tilt lock button seems a little smaller than the tilt lock button on the Canon 580ex & ex II flash but only by hair. The Shanny flash is a little bigger than Canon 580ex & ex II flash but same size as the Canon 600ex-rt flash. Other than the words printed on the plastic (Shanny or Canon) you really can not tell the difference between the 2 speedlites. The rear screen is just a little bigger on the Shanny than the Canon 600ex-rt. Spec's/power wise this is supposed to match up with the Canon 580ex II, because the Shanny is NOT Radio Wireless built in. It is Optical Wireless just like the Canon 580ex & ex II. However...the Shanny is more powerful at 62 GN VS 58 GN on the Canon 580ex II AND thru the menu you can select Quick Continuous Flash and the Shanny will recycle a lot faster than the Canon using the same batteries. I tested it on my Canon 7d at 100 iso @ F/2.8 and 3 fps & also at 400 iso F/4.0 on 3 fps all interior shots, all E-TTL ! And I never got an underexposed shot !! The bounce head is good, the swivel is very stiff now but may loosen a little with time. And the HotShoe foot is very stable, not loose at all ! I've only had it for 2 days, so I can't comment about the durability yet. But, I will add some additional review later
