How long is the cable? Would extending the length of the cable change the accuracy of the reading?

  • The cable was about a foot long it's a very fine gauge wire I do not know if extending it what affect accuracy

Can I connect directly to the battery positive and negative posts? Or does it need to include an on/off switch on the positive wire? Thanks.

does it draw power when its in idle?

  • You have to turn it on to get a reading, then it shuts off after a few seconds

I am running 2 12v batteries in series (24v system) can i hook this up to the + on battery a and the - on battery b or do i need 2 of these?

  • yes you can- i have mine hooked up that way for my trolling motors batteries and works great
