I love gadgets that are obvious and easy to work out without reading the manual. You pull down the black plastic on the handle to insert the 2 x AAA batteries (not supplied), close it up and switch it on. Point it towards anywhere in the room (I tried the cat, she wasn't impressed), squeeze the trigger and it immediately comes back to you with a temperature reading. You can let go of the trigger and easily see the reading which it holds on the screen. You have the option to display in either oF or oC. Accuracy seems spot when comparing it to the baby temperature monitor and Gro-Egg I have in the same room. Strengths - Lightweight - Easy to use and operate - Can take readings in Fahrenheit and Celsius - LED display shows remaining power. Weaknesses - 2 x AAA Batteries Not Supplied Would I recommend? Yes. Rating Justification: 5 for construction, 5 for design, 5 for ease of use.

One of the least expensive places to find this item on the internet and works perfectly, as advertised. I personally use mine to check the basking spot temps of my bearded dragon vivarium. There are 3 buttons on the display that will allow you to switch between C/F, display light/ no display light and laser target/no laser target; something I feel is fairly good for a thermometer of this price. It is easy to use and explains adequately the correlation between the distance from the surface and the size of the focal point that you will be measuring.

The item arrived around two weeks sooner than the seller said that it would, coming all the way from China I feel this is very good customer service. The item was well packed into a neat plastic style envelope. I purchased this to use on my angling trips as I like to record the waters surface temperature. Having tested the infrared thermometer on our garden pond and inside the chest freezer I can say that it is pretty accurate. No doubt looking at the size and over all build it was designed with users having small hands. The two batteries supplied are very easy to fit and the basic instructions are good for another bargain made in the PCR. Pleased with the purchase and I will update this short review should any issues arise. Thanks for reading this.

Probably one of the best presents I ever bought my other half (he really wanted a thermal imaging camera but thats a lot of money for a toy!). Now he's constantly going around taking the temperature of things - the house, the fridge, the cat, me. Been adjusting the settings on all sorts of things accordingly to try and be more "eco" (mainly the fridge rather than the cat!). Bought this particular one as it took standard batteries rather than the more awkward square ones and so could use rechargeables.

Good product arrived before time and packaged well. The unit works well enough, seems to be fairly accurate have tested on several things ie radiaters, walls multi fuel stoves (checking temperature of stove )etc. if you are using it for small items it may not be as accurate especially if the items are close together. (Like 2 copper pipes going to a radiator). Also don't be too far away from your objects. For me its just fine and I have not had any problems with it even the price was very good.
