I have a Canon 40D with an external flash. Does the receiver need to be connected to the flash shoe in order for this to work?

  • Yes the receiver goes on top of the camera. Works great have not had a problem with it.

does this work with t4i

  • This exact model of Pixel Pro may not work on the t41 but Pixel Pro has models on their web site that claim that model works. For the cheap price it would be worth it to find out. I love mine and it works as advertised. Just check by google or otherwise the PP website and find the correct on.

I just want to know if this comes with the cord to plug it into the camera or not. I have the Canon SX50HS, is this going to work with it?

  • Yes it comes with a cord, that fits into the side of the camera where the accessory plugs are. Works very well would recommend.

how does this connect to the camera body? I see the receiver looks like to be mounted on hot shoe?

  • It can mount to the hot shoe for convenience, but there is no active connection to the hot shoe. I usually let it hang off the side if I'm using the hot shoe for something else.

does this also work like a shutter lock: does it allow for a timed bulb exposure? or do I need a locking cable for that?

  • I use a Canon 7D. This will work using the "B" (bulb) setting. I've used it for moon shots and infrared exposures - all 10 to 20 second exposures.
