I've been building guitars from the trees on up for quite awhile now. I have purchased parts since you had to order them from paper catalogs. I use to put these Telecaster controls together myself. Not any longer with this high quality set! This item rocks! Very high quality! The knobs are like pure steel. The soldering is top notch. The controls should last a long time. Only the chrome plate itself is a bit under par but not by very much. Overall I would say that this is the better of what China has to offer. I will be ordering another one soon for another build.

This is the best tele control I have ever used. Both pots are distinct 0-10 and smooth. Connect the hot wire on the pickups to the 2 outside lungs on the switch. Neck to one side, and bridge to the other. Connect the 2 grounds from the pickups to the volume pot. Remove the 2 long leads, and remove the tiny lead from the middle lung on the volume pot, and ground the lung to the pot with the tiny lead like in this wonderful picture. Connect your hot lead from your output to the middle lung on the volume pot. Your ground lead will ground to the tone pot. If you follow these instructions you'll have a great time.

It's hard to complain about this, considering how low the price is. The plate and knobs are sturdy, with a good finish. The switch feels pretty sturdy as well, though time will tell. However, as other posters have said, the wiring on the switch is not remotely standard. Mine had 7 leads (not 8), and two pairs of those were permanently connected. After playing around with a multimeter, I managed to figure out how to wire up the pickups. Counterintuitivly, the bridge had to be wired to the highest lead, and the neck pickup to the lowest. Basically, if you're looking to save some money, this will work pretty well, but you'll need to spend some time with a multimeter to make it work.
