2x AAA and maybe it is just me, but I use a Brand Name cell that rhymes with euracell. The batteries do not seem to last very long. When I say long as in maintaining accuracy. The measurement will begin to fluctuate as the lower left in the cells goes down.

HI, I delve into precious metals and high end gems I have and have had many portable scales this one is a true "GEM" vbery accurate user friendly small rarly needs calibration if ecveri highly recommend..and if your weighing herbs or powders u definitely cant beat for the price id tell u to buy 2 good luck................MIKE

It really is a MINI scale lol which is what I wanted. It weighs what I need it to way, the back light turns off after a few seconds of no use but once touched again lights back up & still has whatever you were doing on it. The only negative thing I really have to say is that it feels cheap & kinda 'plasticy'.

Despite it's crappy feel and poor looking build quality this is a very good, and cheap, scale for greater accuracy (100g x 0.01g) on the go. There a handy little tray that fits atop the small surface. Although the tray is a slick metal pan that does not hold very much. This is still a very accurate device.

It's not a bad little scale, of course it's not without its faults either. I think the biggest glitch that i noticed is when you are weighing something very very small i.e. less than 50mg or 0.05g, the scale has a little bit of trouble with it. Let me be clear though it CAN weigh down to .01g properly, the problem so-to-speak, is that when you are weighing something that miniscule the scale has a little trouble registering it, if that makes sense. For example i basically only weigh stuff under 50mg/0.05g, and NO it's not illegal drugs, anyways say you place a small amount of something on the scale that you know weighs probably about .03-.04g sometimes the scale won't even recognize it, or it will read that is is only like .01g. Which in my case it's not a big deal. but for those using it in applications like chemistry or to measure medications for small animals, this can be very dangerous. With that all being said please don't think the scale is a cheap piece of garbage. If you are measuring in very small weights and you are unsure about the accuracy of the weight read out, simply remove whatever you're weighing, zero out the scale, and re-weigh it. Lastly for the price of the scale, i would say having to reweigh something every now and then is by far a defect i can overlook. If mine ever breaks i would definitely buy another one, not to mention i would recommend this to others without a second thought.

It's as pictured though taking it out and holding it the build quality seems kind of cheap (but probably fair enough for the money). It's a lot bigger than I imagined it was probably on the thickness side of it. The battery cover almost seems to fall off by itself, I'll be surprised it this doesn't become an issue. However for usability, the accuracy is good, on various ends of the spectrum and there's no drift and good repeatability. It's got a light but it only stays on for about 3 seconds so you better be quick! Something that concerns me is the little dish that's included. (outside of having sharp edges that needed sanding down) You kind of have to use it because it's the only thing small enough to be used and it seems natural to keep it under the cover. However this means it's banging on the weighing surface as it's being jostled in your pocket or luggage and that can't be good for the sensor, so I think I'm going to discard the dish and just use the plastic cover. As s side not they probably put as much money in the carrying case as they did the scale. The only reason I can imagine that I will be impressed with this a year from now is if it's working a year from now. I had one of those tiny matchbox scales and it was impressive to show people because it was so damn small and was reasonably accurate- but it broke after a month and one drop on a hard floor. Edit: okay after over a year of tough daily use its still working! But buying another cause its picked up a little drift. But i love it.

The little tare tray makes me spill and re-weigh more than I should, and I feel like I am going to damage the platform. Then the plastic cover is awkward to put on when done. Also, if you put it in the storage pouch tray-end-first it is very difficult to get all three pieces out. But overall, it does what it is supposed to do, and the price is right.

this is a great user friendly scale. Clear buttons, large numbers on display, and uncomplicated - plus it's small in comparison to standard 100th scales. only issue has been figuring out how to get the clear plastic cover onto the exposed part of the scale.other than that I am satisfied.
