I have used with smart phone, pictures look great. Light does not mount to phone.

The inside diameter of the hole on the light is 95mm. So, your lens is just a little bit to big to fit through the opening.

It probably would, or be very close at least. I wouldn't combine the two.

This comes with the light, a L-Shape bracket, a magnetic diffusion filter, and a magnetic tungsten filter.

This is a fantastic light. Some have complained about the magnetic filters, one clear and one to balance with incandescent lighting. In my opinion both filters work well - the clear to protect the LEDs and the orange to closely match incandescent lighting. If I need to adjust output color further I will obtain commercial gels and attach to the clear filter. The Sony batteries work well with this unit but I purchased the Kastar NP-F570 Battery (2-Pack) and Charger Kit which I am very happy with - they provide a long working life, usually one battery for a full days shoot. I use this unit for manual fill lighting of my architectural interior photos - perfect light solution for my work. I have not tried this unit for its intended us as a lens ring light but intend to have some close-up photo fun when I get some time. In connection with the included bracket to mount the ring light around the lens I see no real reason to complain - I works for the intended purpose on my Nikon D800 and Nikon 105 macro lens.

I've attached this to my Sony A7S and I can still use my camera handheld. I do 95% natural light photography but wow -- so glad I got this -- works well for just a touch of fill light. The brightness is truly, 100% adjustable, the throw is great when on full power, and it's not so heavy that I can't use it handheld on my camera by attaching it to the L-Bracket. This also fits the Nex-7 as well. ** However, as posted somewhere, I bought the thin battery pack for this light -- depending on the depth of your camera grip and size of your hand, I can see it'll be nearly impossible to grip the camera and use handheld because there won't be enough clearance for your hand when you hold the camera. I did also attach a lens hood which allows you to pull back the camera from light 'hole' to provide more clearance to use handheld with cameras that have chunky grips. But I love this -- and for the price, I'd say it's a great buy.

First off this thing is sooooo bright!!! Diffenatly recommend a soft box with it. Works great if you need light in your vechile. Really professional looking, works great. Might not attach to camera properly depending on the lens. Other than that I really like this portable light

I have used this light in several video and film projects now, as well as photography. My favorite setup up is on a set with a bright window with natural light coming through, and then using the R-300 as a gentle fill that just places a "kiss" of soft light on the actors faces during a scene. Great for packing, batteries last quite a while and they run about $12.00 each (after market), never have had a single issue with these.

I'm so upset I only got a chance to use it once and was planning to do a full review on it . Unfortunately I only got to use it for 1 hour lighting a video shoot and was using as a full light on a model with a car till we decided to change positions and the driver accidently ran over my light so for that 1 hour it worked great but now I'm out of a light and can't do a full review

I do a lot of on location magazine advertising photography and I never know what the lighting situation is going to be. I usually don't have time or room for elaborate lighting set ups with cords running every where trying to find outlets. I hate the look of flash photography as well. This was the perfect lighting solution for me. I love the size, the weight and the 2 filter options that come with the light. I can either hand hold one light or use all three on stands. I can shoot through the ring or mount it to the top of my camera as well. This is a great video lighting solution too! The fact that the lights are totally adjustable with a knob are just and added feature that you will appreciate from the start. I bought 4 Sony NP-F550 Batteries so I would always have a back-up one charged. And as far as durability goes . . . well I dropped the first one the first day I had it onto hard concrete and not a scratch. I have used them for tabletop, portrait, backlit, video, furniture, performance and micro photography. I have been pleased with the results every time. I only wish that they made a carrying case for them, but I improvised by buying a file carrying case from Staples with a handle and all three fit in there just fine.

I have owned and used the F&V R-300 LED for close to a year now and it's my all-time favorite video light. At full power the light lasts about 40 minutes using a standard NP-F550 or about 70-80 minutes using an NP-F770. You can also plug it into for continuous power or uses an external battery pack, like an Anker 10,000mAh to get hours of full-power use out in the field. The diffusion filters are magnetic and snap on or off in a matter of 1 second. You can even stack them as each magnet snaps to the one below it. I purchased my light direct from F&V when it first came out. I paid more money for it but it included the 15mm rail mount, light stand mount, and the three diffusion filters (Tungsten, Frost, and Milk). Another place where this light excels is for lighting foregrounds for night-sky timelapse photography. Using a standard NP-F550 battery, with the dimmer switch about 3 steps up from off, this light lasted over 48 hours (I tested it in house). That blew my mind. Anytime I use a light for a 3-5 hour timelapse I always would keep my fingers crossed that the light didn't go out in the middle of the timelapse - essentially ruining the shot. This light will run for days when dimmed. You might wonder why I would use it dimmed so much, but when shooting the stars I typically have an ISO of 1600 or 3200 and an exposure time of 20 seconds. With those camera settings even the dimmer on 3 up from bottom makes this light look very bright on your foreground subject. The reason I go 3 up from the bottom is that when I go 1 or 2 the light will sometimes pulse or flicker as if it can grab on to which setting it wants to be on, but once you step up to the 3rd level or greater - the light is consistent until it goes off. LED's don't slowly dim as the battery runs down. They stay strong until the voltage isn't enough and then they just turn off. There is NOT a battery power indicator, so if you plan to use the light and battery for 6 or 7 hours of shooting - make sure you test your batteries ahead of time. I typically purchase off-brand batteries and the reliability varies with each battery. I test each of my batteries for my intended use and then label them as to how long they lasted (at full power and 3-steps from bottom). The ones that fail very early don't get used. Ring lights are often used in portraiture and fashion photography. The catch light that ring lights create really makes a person come alive. The ring light also provides it's own feathered vignette making it ideal for many types of photography.

Great light for fill and effects nice touch with the dimmer function and very useful as it never gets hot. The color temperature of the light might be an issue for some, but any good color grading software and compensate for that. Although it didn't have the mounting bracket for use with my cannon 5D That has to be purchased separately.
