Features : NEW Krone LSA-PLUS Insertion Punch Down Tool (Telecom)

Description:
The LSA-PLUS® Quick Connection Technique is a highly reliable and cost effective wire connection method for modern telecommunications and data networks. LSA stands for Löt-frei, Schraub-frei, Abisolier frei - German for no soldering, no wire-stripping, no screwing. The design uses our unique Insulation Displacement Contact (IDC) technique which clamps the wires at a 45° angle, thus dramatically reducing the risk of a poor termination and increasing the wiring productivity. Originally designed for telecommunication products such as the widely accepted KRONE 10 pair termination module, this acclaimed technique has been used to provide the fundamental building block of our innovative range of products for the data market.

Advantages:

  • Gas tight connection
  • Two wires per contact
  • One push wire insertion
  • No Wire-stripping, screw and solder free
  • Only one inexpensive tool required

The KRONE LSA-PLUS® contacts (below) consist of a contact slot (2) with flexible contact arms (3). These are arranged at 45° to the axis of the wire.
The wire (4) is pressed by the Insertion Tool (5) into the contact slot (2) cutting through the conductor insulation.
By displacement of the insulation and the constant torsional restoring force (6,7) of the flexible contact arms, two permanent gas tight contact points are created with the conductor.
The clamping ribs (1) tightly grip the wire on both sides of the contact, ensuring the mechanical integrity of the connection.
In one simple movement the Insertion Tool (5) terminates the wire and trims it to the correct length.

Effects of KRONE contact on wire (A): Positioning contacts at a 45° angle leaves more wire between contact points and provides a more reliable, stress-resistant connection.
Effects of other contacts on wire (B): Positioning contacts at a 90° angle produces a point of weakness subject to breakage.
