I like everything about the product. I have some issues with all alcohol stoves. Safety of the fuel..can't always tell stuff is on fire!!! And clean up. The stove is being used for lightweight motorcycle camping and I have tried 3 different fuels that all leave heavy black soot on pans..the clean up takes lots of water and time.

I am a Mormon, and we are taught to be prepared for just about everything. I had an alcohol burner with two sealed gallons of alcohol, but when we were remodeling the house my husband got ambitious and threw the burner away. To say I was not happy would be a severe understatement. I ordered this one and examined it closely; I did not try it out because I do not want to open the alcohol containers until it becomes necessary. However, this looks very usable, although it will hold only a small pot. But that's enough to boil water. Most of our stored food either can be eaten straight from the can or needs only to have hot water poured into it. So this meets our needs. I don't know how well it would meet the needs of a hiker, because alcohol is heavy, but given our health and the fact that my right leg is fused at the knee and has a titanium rod from hip to ankle, we're not going to do any hiking anyway. If there's an earthquake and we have to leave our house, I suppose we'll camp out in the backyard.

This alcohol stove is inexpensive and performs well. Pros: hasn't leaked, light weight, has internal wick to bloom faster, comes with a stuff sack, and the pot stand is stable. Cons: The snuffer cap on mine doesn't stay snapped to the lid and the tabs on the pot stand seem short and only hold the stove if bent down at an angle. Note that the bottom of the pot stand is not solid and the cutout allows for the stand to be placed on top of the stove. Haven't tried cooking in this manner since the heat transfer to the pot would be reduced but it is possible. For a size reference my pot pictured is a MSR Alpine Stowaway Pot 775ml which the stove/stand combo nests nicely inside.
