Q

Will this work with the new frsky accst taranis q x7?

A
  • Yes, the xsr has a 5th Wave length antenna. What I did is, stripped the braided metal back to 32mm and now it's a 1/4th or quarter Wave antenna. The signal distance is a lot more.

Great receiver. Has great range and its easy to setup. Only reason i gave it 4 stars is because of its size. Not sure why this Rx is still obsolete due to the fact that the XSR-R is out on the market and has all the same capabilities and same range. I recommend this receiver for any drone 120mm and up. Anything below I recommend the XSR-R

Works great, on caveat: you have to hot glue the attachment point of the antenna as they are soldered on and when they pull of they take the solder pads with them. It would be nice if they could use the clip on antenna like their "big" brothers.

Received mine in the mail and proceeded to install it into my micro since the end of the pigtail is bare wire (and I didn't think to test it before I installed it). Never had a problem with FrSky products before (I own a L9R, X6R, and two X4R-SB). Went to setup the XSR in the Taranis and found it stopped updating telemetry after 5 seconds of being armed. Desoldered and then tried different flight controllers, cables, and configurator settings until I finally fixed the issue by reflashing the XSR firmware downloaded from the FrSky website through the Taranis. Therefore, dropped a star since I wasted two days trying to debug a product.
