Why do laptops never have enough USB ports, or frequently no RJ45 for ethernet connection ? I wanted to plug in more than 1 USB device into my Microsoft Surface Pro 2, and as the wireless receiver in the Surface is not that good compared to other devices, the addition of an RJ45 port is a definite bonus. Previously I kept a physically small USB Memory stick in the solitary USB port, but now I can add my favourite wireless mouse that needs a small USB dongle in the host PC, with the Memory Stick now moved to this hub. The third USB-3 socket is used for connecting an external bus powered USB Hard Drive that I sometimes use to move files to computers that are not my network, and the files are too big for DropBox and the like. Network speed is also much better with the Surface being on my wired 1 Gigabit network, compared to wireless performance. I haven't done any specific measurements, but internet pages load that little bit quicker, and file transfers are much quicker. All USB devices work without problems as well. I have bought a couple of Dodocool products before, and they have all been well made, and this USB Hub is no exception. It is made from black plastic, and both looks and feels very solid. The short cable from the hub to the USB plug is about 160mm long and is good thick cable, well booted at both ends to protect the assembly from people who insist on pulling cable rather than plugs when removing USB connectors. This hub is nice and small, so doesn't take up much desk space, which is always at a premium. A simple, but nice touch is that there are 4 small rubber feet on the bottom of the unit, which prevent the unit from sliding around on a shiny desktop. A great little hub, and ideal for many laptops and similar devices.

Excellent product. After searching for a while decided this was best value vs. best looking to use with my macbook pro and other devices. Delivery was super quick, came with a mains uk adapter too. Very pleased with service and seller. Works perfectly and its fast as described. Would recommend above others to everyone!

I had a Belkin USB2 hub which worked great but last Christmas I recieved a iMac which is USB3. This hub is very fast as you would expect from being USB3, one thing I also like that it as an on and switch. I backed up my files from my old PC on an external hard drive which is USB3 when trying to view some of my photos it would crash but with this hub this does not happen very please about this. Another plus is 7 ports as well I have used 2 of these permanently one for my external hard drive and one for my DVD/CD recorder This unit is at a good price and as it has its own power supply some of the cheaper ones don't have this as some USB devises get there power from your PC. I have tried a USB3 hub without power supply and it connect to the PC with 2 USB sockets I like my printers and scanners plug directly into a PC or iMac.

After retrieving my old usb hub from behind the desk for the last time I decided to buy a new one. I like my desk to look clean and uncluttered so my criteria was for a hub with all the connections on the back and not the front, sides, top, bottom and middle as most of them are. This one caught my eye, but I didn't immediately order it because It seemed way too expensive for a USB hub. After a couple of hours of fruitless searching I finally came back to this one and ordered it. When I opened the box I was blown away. I would never go as far as to call something as mundane as a USB hub sexy, but this one sure is. It's made of aluminium and weighty enough not to disappear down the back of the desk at the slightest touch. From the front it looks like a solid wedge of aluminium with a row tiny blue LEDs. The ports are sensibly spaced and I've had no problems with large USB keys rendering the ports either side of it unusable. Overall a superb product that's well made. Highly recommended.

With Android phones start to build without the 3.5mm jack, I need something to charge the phone while listening to music or movie at the same time. This does the job. However, it's size is too big to use with smart phone. Hopefully Dodocool will read my comment and make a compact version in the future with just the power pass through port and an USB-C for headphones.

A truly excellent USB 3 hub works well with my Playstation 3 every device connected worked a treat and successfully gave me 7 addition USB ports off the one port. My Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard worked as did my USB flash drive and Logitech web cam worked on my Ps 3. Next I tried it on my new Windows 7 Pc and yet again every device worked at full USB 3 speed including my Toshiba external hard drive,Transcend Usb 3 64Gb flash drive,Scan Disk Flash Drives and my Sony Flash Drive. Each device worked at the maximium speed which they were able to work at in accordance with the speed specifications for the device which the manufacturers said there device was capable of. All devices connected seem stable and recognized each time I start up windows on my PC with no problems. The Hub is very well made and of a beautiful appearance in a nice Silver Aluminum Finnish and stays nice and cold while the multiple devices are running on my PC which probably helps keep the performance at it maximium for each given device. Not the cheapest of USB 3 hubs but seems so far extremely reliable and with no issues or conflicts for any of the devices plugged into it. The Hub is recognized as straight as it is plugged into a PC or a Playstation 3. So I was very pleased the Hub is multi system compatible and would definitely not hesitate to buy another of these Hubs in the Future if I want one for permanent use on my Playstation 3 or if I want to increase my number of USB 3 ports on my PC as it has only got two dedicated USB 3 ports. A excellent price and value for money,looks the Buisness,Performance is excellent and works with all devices tested so far with no problems. It is also mains powered so devices which require a lot of power will have no problems operating at peak performance,efficiency and stability.

Dodocool USB 3.0 3Prt HUB with Gigabit Ethernet B00XW5VEO6 With the price and performance this is just an indespencible item for the tool kit. I had this one about a week and a friend had a fail in her internet connection. So, I ran over and plugged this into her USB and in a few seconds she was back online. As it turned out a noname ethernet card went toes up. So, I left the DC18 there connected to her old HP's Lone previously unnoticed USB3.0 jack on the back of the chassis so she could keep working while arranging for a replacement ethernet card. The DC18 apparently worked better than the 5 year old 10/100 card. Sort of a vague description, but if she is happy that is what counts. With thunder and lightning, you never know. Best to have some parts around in case of tragedy. And this is a handy stop gap measure. With three USB ports on the Hub it is hard to beat the convenience. This thing is absolutely perfect for someone that cannot plug an RJ-45 into their PC for Internet connectivity. I stuck this into a USB 2.0 on my laptop and the driver install came up right away and did not lake long at all to finish and I was on the Internet that fast. For those that are really clueless, you do have to have Internet access from a provider with a CAT 5 like to plug into this device. It is not magically going to give you Internet for free. That being said, I also attached two external devices to the USB 3.0 slots onto this device, a Kingston USB 2.0 flash drive and a Transcend USB 3.0 card reader. I put pics of each ready to open files and also the device itself this these things plugged in. You really cannot have it simpler than this if you do not have a port to plug the RJ-45 into. I received this at a discount in exchange for an honest review.
