It works well when you're not shooting a very ambitious scene and it does not get knocked or shaken. If you use it for smooth takes where the gimbal is attached to a fairly stable mount then it works well. However if you do not follow the instructions carefully it will stop working due to the fact that the internal cable get twisted making it malfunction. Every time this happens the gimbal has to be opened up to unravel its cable which is a pain in the neck.

Review for the WGS model for Hero Session. I had hoped the motor noise problem was isolated to the heavier Hero4/5 and the Session model would work but that is not the case. You can hear the constant buzzing of the gimbal motors in the video. Also if you get beyond it's normal range of travel the gimbal will freak out pull out the connector inside the gimbal, making it a paperweight. This can be fixed by breaking it open and re-connecting the cable (not a tough job but be aware). If you are on an absolute budget it might work for you, if not look elsewhere.

I guess I shouldn't expect much from a 1 axis gimble but this was kind of a waste of money for me thus three star. I though I could use it for chest mount on my moto, but it's a little bulky and gets in the way. I've used it once or twice, but ended up buying a 3 axis and haven't used this since. Save your money, go with three axis.

creates very smooth video when it isn't having a sezure. every once in a while it starts to shake uncontrollably. Still haven't figured out why. Otherwise I love the product and the incredibly smooth shots you get with it. I was running with it and in the video you had no idea it was so smooth

Great Gimbal as far as stabilization is concerned. However, the video thru via USB-Composite is not working with GoPro Hero4 Black. I contacted Manufacturer's support and got asked if I folloed the directions... Seriously! Still waiting to hear back after telling the obvious "Yes followed the instructions, 1 port, 1 cable, into AV in on monitor" Kinda hard to mess that one up! I ordered a GoPro branded composite video cable today, in hopes that it will work, but I'm not holding my breath, as the internal circuitry of the gimbal must match GoPro's USB pinout if this is to work correctly. I'll try to report back the results once I know.

nice quality build, nice 360 deg continuous panning but unfortunately could not work out horizon drift and small vibrations on forward flight, I think because its too light, the horizon drift and vibes were just bad enough to ruin the videos or require too much editing.....its an ok gimbal if you might have better luck or if you dont mine some horizon drift here and there.

Just purchased the Feiyu G4S for my Gopro. One major problem I have with the new design is that it does not allow mounting the GoPro LCD monitor in the back of the camera. Another problem I noticed is that they ship only one plastic clipper to clip the camera to the Gimbal. If the clip breaks or if you lose it then you are in trouble. For a product that costs $250 I cannot believe they don’t include some extra clips. Oh and good luck with support. They get back to you days and days later with some useless feedback. The company is China based.

It works as it should and stabilizes the GoPro quite well but only if the battery is fresh and fully charged. I have found that the battery indicator is inaccurate. Supposedly, 3 blink indicates full battery, 2 blink indicates half battery, 1 blink indicates low battery, and fast blink indicates critical battery. I brought this on a cruise with me and filmed on and off for about 1 hour total and noticed the gimbal reacted strangely. It was stabilizing my camera but it would not respond to button press to change mode or obey my joy stick command. I glanced at the battery indicator and it inaccurately displayed that it is at half battery. At first I thought I had a faulty unit but immediately realized as soon as I popped in the fresh second set of battery, it worked right away. Other than this major flaw, I absolutely love this gimbal. It is robust and has a solid feel even at the thinner areas such as the rotating arms. It is also great that you can charge the gopro while filming in emergency situations to get the last shot and able to retrieve pictures without having to remove the gopro from the gimbal.

I have very mixed feelings about this product and wanted to give a detailed review. THE GOOD You definitely have the potential to get some really great shots. The other manufacturers of similar devices around this price point have disappointed me and this is definitely a step closer to perfect, but not quite. A massive plus is the fact that you don't have to do the kind of calibration that is required on the Smooth C (their competitor). The fact that you can attach an extension pole is also a big plus. THE BAD 1. The distance between the base of where your phone is and the top of the pole is very minimal, meaning that as you turn, it's easy for the phone to clip the base and ruin your shot. They could have simply resolved this by expanding the distance between the two. 2. Their competitor's product has a joystick right on the device so you don't need anything extra to tilt. With this you have to buy a third party accessory. If you do this, be very care and get the wireless model. If you use the extension pole, the cord won't reach when fully extended. 3. If you do use the wired remote, I've found that many times there's a significant delay between when I push a button and the device responds. I've also found that if I hold the remote it will sometimes randomly stop mid way through (again, ruining the shot). 4. The fourth problem is the gimbal itself. In my filmmaking I tend to do a lot of "whip around" shots and it seems the gimbal has a lot of trouble keeping up. Many times it will go off kilter, but then eventually adjust itself. That doesn't help my shot. 5. They tell you right out of the box that you need to run firmware updates. By the videos I've been watching on YouTube this seems to cause more problems than it fixes. Also if you're a Mac owner, you're out of luck since the software to update the firmware is only for Windows. Overall, I can't say I'm blown away by this product. The potential is definitely there. I will likely return it and bite the bullet and just order the Osmo instead (I'm not a fan of DJI as a company). Too bad. This product could have been awesome.
