I purchased this to re-live the days of my youth when I used to buy and build other electronic kits. I was able to easily follow the instructions and the unit functions perfectly. I keep this running under my computer monitor during work to inform me the time, date and temperature. I admit that it is a bit cumbersome to re-program if it loses the time, as it is not very intuitive, but I did discover the correct battery to use so that small power losses are absorbed and the correct time re-displays when the power stabilizes again. I love the clear case, so you can admire the detail of your work.

After a long search for a simple LED watch with such numbers, I decided in favor of this kit, although I was totally inexperienced in soldering and electrical engineering ("It will work somehow ..."). And I have to say that it worked quickly and well, even if some of the soldering looked gnarled. After assembly, the watch did what it was supposed to do: time, temperature, alarms and date. Okay, the display takes some getting used to, that after 45 seconds the other information is displayed for 5 seconds at a time, but I only need the watch at night to know what time it is and to be woken up in the morning. So it fits. Only, as Werner Mayer wrote on February 4th, 2018, the kit seems to have a small circuit board error: After assembly and adjustment (still full of enthusiasm), my kit showed no errors in the late evening hours, then the following day around 5:00 p.m. Clock (back from work) an error ("Waaa ... ??"): The LEDs of all four digits in position "b" (see wiring diagram, numbers 1, 2 and 4 top right, number 3 bottom left) do not have more illuminated. After writing the commentary to Werner Mayer in the evening after 10:00 p.m. they did it again, without complaining. The same failure after 7:00 this morning, no LEDs on "b". Apparently there is also a time error (connection hourly beep?). But I will now put the "bridge" according to Werner Mayer's information between resistor R2 (responsible for LED "b", at the outlet on the left) and the foot for LED "b" (position 6) on the nearest number block 4. I wonder if it will work ...

The compact 4-digit temperature-controlled date and time display and clear acrylic housing of this DIY digital LED watch kit gave me the pleasure to assemble, but the post-assembly work was impressive considering the Odds for the $ 8 Acrylic Shell Watch. The main reason I chose this watch is to be able to use the discreet "DS1302" to operate in low power standby mode. This chip is a DS flow charge timing chip, which will greatly extend the backup battery runtime in low power operation because at 300nA, less than 300nA is used. 2.0V, and the watch has a CR1220 3v battery slot, which means that once you set the time to install the battery, you need to keep all settings, and the real-time watch counts seconds, minutes, hours, date of month, month, day of the week and long service life Up to two years or batteries installed, and no additional power is required to maintain real-time status. The watch itself can work normally. Keeps time at approximately +/- 2 seconds per day. The programming on the main clock chip can use some minor modifications so that the change in temperature, day of the week, date, etc. can be disabled. And it only shows the time. There are only two buttons to program the clock. Although it is not very intuitive, it is easy to find out how to program it. You can disable hourly reminders, alarms, etc. because the ON / OFF indicator is a dot. The only problem I have is the photoresistor (LDR), which seems to be too sensitive to light, even if you use your own LED light it will turn on the maximum brightness of the LED! The easy problem to solve is to solve the problem of black paint to reduce pain in the lower part of LDR. I also made a few small changes to the circuit, and added a micro 180mAh 3.7v lithium battery to power the watch without connecting the USB port, and it looks like it can show about 6 without connecting the USB power supply. Hours of time, so the portable DIY watch is worth it. To check prices, this is an interesting weekend project. Please rate the product four stars!

Fun to assemble and great watch for the camper. I connected it to a cigarette lighter USB adapter. I attached an additional battery compartment with 2 AA batteries, now the time lasts for months when the 12 V on-board voltage is switched off.

Since I don't have the batteries I need, I haven't finished this project yet. I hope it comes with one or allows you to feed it without one.

I soldered the kit together as stated and only thought that everything went well. But then I noticed that the counter was not working. I then tried to desolder the number fields again. Unfortunately, the board broke as a result. I then tested the counter via Arduino and noticed that the IC was damaged. I may try again with a kit because I do not know whether it was a manufacturer or a construction error on my part. However, I only recommend this kit to people who can solder really well and do not do it as a third or fourth soldering exercise. First three stars.

Excellent, fun assembly for those equipped with welder and various. Precise and large enough figures even with the naked eye for those who like me lack some degree; pleasant automatic contrast based on ambient light.

For around $ 12, this is really an incredible offer. The little things are great. I am glad that someone like Charles N. has given him very good guidance in English in his comments with great generosity. I have spent hours and years, I have been designing and building many electronic products professionally. As a hobby, I didn't even use Neuhauser's instructions just because I hadn't seen them. Most toolboxes disappoint me because they make me feel a little useless, but they are really great. It is a clock that can read the time, date, day of the week (the number starts at 1 on Monday) and the temperature in degrees Celsius. If you can't handle the Celsius temperature, I'm a shame, just multiply by 2, subtract 10% and add 32. Someone can do this in your head, right? And I think it can be connected to any USB power source, so it even works. And it will automatically dim. Wearing red, white or blue may be too bright. It is the STC version of the MCU 8051. If you have not yet wanted to write a program, I think if you want to reprogram or buy a new chip and write your own code, I think.

The watch kit is a challenging project. I provide a complete set of rewrite instructions. I reformed this as a course to learn electronics using this project. These are the pros and cons, very good, the watches look good and include a dark filter in the LEDs so that they are shown very clearly. - Good night attenuation function. -Projects of medium assembly complexity. Must be able to weld through hole components with confidence. There are components mounted on both sides of the board. -It seems reliable enough. After showing me the knowledge they can weld, I have a class of six students, and each class builds a clock. All watches work. Not good, the instructions are terrible. The attached image is a rewrite instruction. -The clock cannot be disconnected correctly. Although the watch has a backup battery and the clock chip is designed to maintain battery time even when the power is turned off, the real-time clock is still running. As a result, a backup battery is ideal for a brief interruption, but if the power supply is lost for a long time (for example, one hour), your clock will be delayed by one hour. Remember the time of the power failure, but do not retain that time. This is a programming problem because the DS1302 real time clock is designed to continue to function during a power failure. -Before installing the LED, all welding conditions must be carefully checked. Once the LEDs are installed, the solder joints cannot be easily reworked because they are covered by the LEDs. I have determined how to test the clock before installing the LED (see instructions): the clock is not supplied with the battery. Without the battery, even if you disconnect it for a few seconds, the watch will lose all programming functions. You need a CR1220 battery or equivalent. It is installed with a plus sign (+). -Difficult to assemble the house.

The kit came by post today and I immediately started the soldering work. Since everything is well described, there were no problems with the assembly. After work, however, the disillusionment came on: the display only shows h5C5. On. Unfortunately, a reset did not improve. However, the temperature is displayed correctly. Does anyone have an idea? Otherwise good device.

Technically, the watch is fine. The quality is ok and the price is not too high. For the assembly z. B. a parts list. It is very difficult for beginners to correctly assign the components. Installation instructions for the housing are also missing. You could only get there with Try & Error, which took a lot of time. It would make more sense here to add more than just a sheet.

Fun for the assembly geeks. Eye when mounting the displays to not overdo it with heat or burn them.

It was fun to put the watch together and it's still running. Great thing and great idea to solder something. You have to work exactly then it runs. Thank you

Spend more and get more! I thought I was buying a blank version of the call clock, but compared to another (I made 3 call watches), this is very scarce! 24-hour mode only, Celsius temperature only. Buy another Kkmoon call clock and enjoy all the other features and programmability for just a few dollars more and you'll be happy! Otherwise, it's fine, I just don't want military time and Celsius, so it will never be used ...

Very easy and fun to assemble, it works as a jewel, equipped with all the components and the necessary, displays time, temperature, date and day of the week (in rotation every minute or so, not simultaneously). It even has an ambient light sensor, in fact during the day and with the light on, the brightness of the clock is pretty strong (but without annoying), while at night as soon as the light turns off, the display instantly attenuates the brightness on the low level which makes it perfectly visible in the dark and, at the same time, not at all annoying (I guarantee that in the dark the brightness is perfect to read the figures without illuminating the room or annoying as if it were a lamppost). Finally it has a settable daily alarm, which emits a BEEP (making itself heard very well) 5 times in a row, stopping immediately afterwards (so you don't have to get up or press something to stop the sound). I am very satisfied and surprised by the quality of the product compared to the ridiculous price at which it is sold.
