I have to keep in mind that I didn't pay much for this. For the price, it does okay. I couldn't use it with the supplied software on a Windows 7 machine, and instead had to find a download for a different program to use the device. I ended up using AmCap, but I'm sure there are other viewers that would work. I bought it from KKMoon for $20.91 and had no shipping issues. I bought it to try to view a tiny egg cluster that I found. It was hard to get it to focus, because like any microscope the depth of focus is pretty shallow. Attached are pics of the Lacewing egg with a regular camera through a magnifying glass, and with this microscope. I'd recommend it for kids as a way to get them interested in the world beneath their noses. You just have to remember you're not gonna get a $500 picture with a $20 scope. I'm updating my review to five stars in spite of the software difficulty. I kept playing with the scope today and discovered it has a focus on it. I had avoided turning the top because I thought it would twist and break the wires inside. However, I discovered it is supposed to turn. Some instructions would definitely help, but this is a great little microscope for the price. I've attached new pictures. It will actually take pictures apparently to infinity, and seems to do well in low light. The ability to focus means the depth of focus, of course, is also from touching, to infinity. It's pretty awesome.

The camera itself is very nice, high resolution/quality at small and large magnification, and an impressive range. However, the method of zooming in and out requires turning a knob on the back of the rod, which messes up the position of the camera. Once I have it set up and zoomed appropriately, it is perfect. The tripod is also mostly useless, but I have my own methods for clipping it in place. The light weight is very helpful for my experiments, and it hooks up to a cell phone to save pictures, which is very convenient. 5/5 for my use, especially given the low price, but I mentioned warnings above.
