I do not see why not. There is noting toxic in the pump (no oil bearings) Magnetic coupled plastic impeller moves the fluid.

Not sure if this pump has any internal rubber seals, but alcohol drys out rubber an certain plastics over time.

I would think NOT. It's a small thin wall pump with fairly delicate parts inside and it would fall apart at that temp.

It will run on a battery; however, it is a relatively high power device to use with a battery. Also, the motor can fail in a shorted condition, and thus will most likely severely damage any battery connected to it. 1/4 inch ID. I tried to use this pump to pump water out of my garden fountain, Did not work well at all. Waste of money for that purpose.

I would imagine if you ran a hose to it that it would run but I'm unsure what the suction head would be. I'd also guess that it needs cooling and that by not having it submerged that would create an issue also.

I have had no problems with this pump I use it in my lab to run water to condensers from the chilled water reservoir. I have left this pump running for 36 hours straight in 39 degree water and it works like a champ. Have not had a problem with it yet. The pump states its a 5 watt pump mine pulls slightly more amperage than that when under load about 800 mw as opposed to the 415 mw stated so make sure you have the right voltage and enough current to run the pump and do not hook it up backwards should work just fine for you.

Finally arrived...seems the USPS delivered to the wrong address so it was a tad late. No fault of the seller. Immediately upon arrival I connected the pump to a 9 V battery and placed the suction side in the kitchen sink to get a feel for the pumps rate and noise. The pump runs very quite and moves a great deal of water....even though I was running it on 9V instead of 12V. I intend to use this pump on a peltier water cooling box I am building to keep shiners in. There is sufficient movement of volume to not only keep the water in the chest continually cool and exchanged but also to provide sufficient aeration through a planned spray bar. I have not yet tested the lift but I am certain it will more than handle it as it is only a foot or so and the sticker on the pump states it will lift 3+ meters. I will power the system with 12 volt battery and a PWM motor controller as I suspect the pump may have to be slowed in order to not over agitate the water causing protein bubbles to form. I will update as soon as the build is complete and more thoroughly tested. Of particular note is the pumps size...it is very small yet powerful....as I had hoped.
