This is a pretty solid device. Hawkeye did a nice job with the build. It also packs a ton of features for such an inexpensive device. I also like the fact that you can use pretty much all of gopro's accessories with it. Now it does have some flaws. First of all, this camera is not true 4k, it's interpolated 4k. It's shot at 2k and stretched out to 4k during playback. Now i'm not certain why they decided to go this route, if anything makes it look like they are intentionally misleading the consumer (i'm not saying that they are, i'm only saying that this is the appearance). I personally think they would've been fine with saying that the camera is 2K. 2k is still a very good resolution at this price. Shooting in interpolated 4K not only serves no purpose but it also renders the camera's stabilizer useless. Another misleading spec is that the lens is distortionless but in actuality it is not the lens that is distortionless, it is actually the field of view that's distortionless. This camera allows you to shoot in a 90 degree field of view which will eliminate distortion, but it is a smaller field of view. Shooting in a 120 degree field of view will give you a wider shot but it will invite distortion. I personally think that it's great that you have the option of shooting in a 90 or 120 degree field of view but think that they should make it a bit clearer. In my opinion it seems a little misleading for no reason. I also think it's great that you can shoot raw with the camera, but I had problems opening the raw photos in lightroom and in photoshop raw. I'm not sure if that was just the device that I have or if it is something that can be fixed with a firmware update. The image stabilization was a nice touch. Although it's not as good as others, I'm happy to have it at this price point. Overall despite some inconsistencies with the specs, I still think that this device offers a lot at this price point. If possible I would rate this device a 3.5 if I had the option.
