The hat is made of plastic, with little or no venting, so you tend to sweat a bit more. The brim is wider in the front to keep the netting from touching your face. There is a metal rim that rests on your shoulders to keep the netting pulled tightly off your face. There is an elastic band around the bottom to keep the bugs from flying in through the bottom. The black fine netting allows you to see perfectly.
