I'm not sure what you have in mind. It is a 12vdc pump so it would work in a car. I found it to be a reliable pump capable of sending water up several feet in a flexible plastic pipe, in my application. According to my observations the answer is yes. Water does not return from the hose to the container after the pump is off so the subsequent switch on will result in immediate flow.

Yes, I run mine on two of these types of batteries recharged with a solar setup- and it's been running great. But you need to have a way to recharge the batteries, obviously. But that battery will run the pump perfectly!

This is one mighty pump that can pump water over nine feet vertical. AND it's super rugged too. Simple to fix as well. If it becomes clogged with pet hair, the front unscrews and you simply clean out the "squirrel cage" on the inside. (Very easy to do.) So far, my pumps have been running for months and no problems- you should have about the same. (Though you may need to clean the pet hair from the pump, if it stops working.) How are you powering these pumps? They work great with solar and I can recommend a cell, battery and charge controller if you need one. Also, you can power them with a wall mounted 12 Volt DC power supply. Not hard to do either. All in all, a great little pump! see less
