Pleasantly surprised, for the price. The unit works great, the picture is clear and has decent (not fantastic) wide-angle coverage. It allows you to select a number of different doorbell tones, and I was able to find one that was loud yet not obnoxious. I originally only needed 1 camera, but bought the unit with 2 due to harsh winters. I wanted a back-up in case it didn't handle direct weather well and failed, at which point I'd figure out how to better protect the replacement. It turned out, though, I found a use for the 2nd camera. During spring thaws, water run-off can flood my basement. Although I have a sump pump to deal with it, I like to keep an eye on it. I placed the 2nd camera in my basement so I can press a button and see how things look without having to go down there. The infra-red turned out to be handy for that purpose. My basement can be pitch black, but I have a steel ruler positioned that reflects the infra-red light back at the camera, so I can still see if there is any water on the floor (which tells me my pump isn't keeping up.) There are only 3 things I wish had been improved upon: First, you can only manually bring up one camera on the monitor. The other camera can ONLY be viewed when someone presses the doorbell. (The camera plugged into the "main" port can be brought up manually OR by pressing the doorbell.) Second, the audio and video has a "timeout" after about a minute or two. So if you're having a long conversation with the person at the door, it will suddenly be cut-off. This is of course more problematic if it's the secondary camera, since YOU can't bring them back up on the screen - they have to press the doorbell again. I think they should have set the timeout for more like 5 minutes, or let the user set it. You definitely WANT a timeout, to prolong the life of the camera and monitor, but it's too short for some conversations. Finally, I'm thinking of getting a 2nd monitor (the system allows up to 2 monitors) so I can answer the door from another part of the house. But they don't include the type of connector used for the additional monitor. I haven't had much luck finding where I can buy them from, so I've been holding off buying a 2nd monitor until I do.

I bought this for my parents property that has two gates on electronic gate openers so that we could see and hear visitors and delivery personnel at each gate. I have not hooked it up yet because I am trying to track down the wires in the house from the old cameras, but I did test the system in the house and it works very well especially the night vision. I will update when I can finally complete the install. and the product works very well the buzzer and the video feed is clear and the MICs work very well. The video has a strange hue to it, some things are kind of lavender but I think it is a problem with the cable that has been buried for several years and the run is close to 200 feet. If I could have I would have run new cable from the gates to the house but I did not have access to a ditch-witch at the time, maybe later.

OK I got these because I didn't want to spend $300 plus dollars on the commercial ring products out there and I was able to run wire. Box comes with screen and 2 bell/video devices the screen/monitor/control panel looks like it can accommodate 4 (good to know for future expansion) Also included are extra connectors if you need to extend the wire or use your own. I was a little skeptical about the quality of camera, but I really didn't need anything that great for my application. I was pleasantly surprised by the function and quality of the unit. Semi Con: the only "con" I would even consider is that the cable provided may be too short for most remote functions, however, I used standard cat 5 and the extra ends provided and ran wire as long as I needed. The LCD screen is nice and the sound is very clear but the camera does not have a wide enough lens to capture who is at the door unless it is mounted around shoulder height and close to the edge of the door so keep that in mind when installing this. The chime variety is nice and is plenty loud for you to hear throughout the house. I do wish we would have had the camera mounted higher and closer to the door though.
