I've bought quite a cubes online, and I wanted to find an inexpensive cube to pass along to my students. I didn't expect such high quality, as I was looking at budget items. I love the mechanism even more than my *other* cubes and speed cubes. I'm totally shocked at the quality. The joy of solving the cube is now back, because I can't seem to put it down. The motion is so smooth and easy to manipulate! (This review will be identical to the white cube review which is also mine.)

As a beginner, I have little to complain about. This is a GREAT value for the price. It is a little "loose" though, which makes it bad for speed cubing, and it can be a little tricky to keep your moves straight sometimes when sides move by accident. For $5-$6, its worth learning on. When you want to look "pro" I might upgrade to an orginal Rubik's Cube.

I chose this rating because I used to own a Rubix cube before back in 1981.I bought me and my sister one at the store in college,and this book that shows you how to solve the cube.I purchased this black cube and a white cube with stickers.The other day,I purchased them both for my sister.I am trying to solve it now as I did back in 1981,and I'm doing well with the first,second,and the corner cubes on the bottom,but those edge cubes I'm having trouble with! That didn'thappen then,(1981)-why now? But overall,I'm having some fun from the eighties--right in the palm of my hands! Thank you very much!

Purchased ShengShou 4x4 and 3x3 puzzles for my son who is a burgeoning cubist, so to speak. Requested the ShengShou brand name after reading about speed cubers and already having Rubik 2x2 and 3x3 for a few months. Fast delivery and packaged well. Product comes in a small box with English/Chinese solving steps for the 3x3 cube and Chinese only for the 4x4. Feel of movement is similar to a well-worn, broken-in Rubik's cube.

This is a great alternative to a Rubix cube. The price was spectacular, and I have been having so much fun with it. I've had it a week or two, I have not solved it yet, but that's what is fun about it! It's very high quality, especially for the price you pay, and I would definitely buy another.

I'm not sure if this qualifies as a speedcube, but it's easily the fastest cube I've ever owned, out of five or six. It's price is very good when compared to what you can find at a Toys R' Us or similar store. It's much more smooth and fast by comparison. Highly recommended. If you want a speed cube, I can't tell you if it's good enough for that because I don't know. I will say that using the simplest method I know ([...]), my fastest time has improved by six seconds (~57 seconds to ~51 seconds). It took hundreds of tries to get 57 seconds and I did 51 seconds on my third try with this cube. For what it's worth, I recommend this cube.

Very smooth action, tremendously smooth action actually. Ten times better than Rubiks, not only that but the sticker sure as well can handle my sweaty and chalky hands whist rock climbing and getting thrown in my bag with my gear. If it can handle that, what could it not. While the "original" ... let's just say it didn't last a solid week with the stickers on. GO CHINA!!!

Bought this cube as a gift and had to buy another for myself; it's a great cube, sturdy and smooth turning. The stickers don't peel as easily as I thought and feel like they'll last a while. I bought the ShengShou 4x4 cube and when it arrived, it was very loose and lubed and it broke within the week so I was hesitant to buy this cube but the reviews say all good things and now I can see why!

I remember as a kid I played a lot with the 3x3 cube. Back then the ones I use were terrible, bad quality in short. These ones (I bought two) are on par and offers good movement. Dont remember how to make the botton layer but I am remembering fine. And what matters most, a good experience with these ones.

When I got the cube a few of the stickers were a little messed up, but just scraping them with my thumb fixed them right up. The cube turns very quickly right out of the box and it is very easy to handle. Really a great cube; may not be durable if you drop it or something, but that's the price you pay for super fast and easy turns. Very inexpensive as well.

This was my first cube and I am very impressed. It's smooth and easy to turn. I am especially impressed with the price. I looked for Rubik's cubes in stores and online and when I saw this cube for about $4, I took a chance and my expectations were exceeded. Highly recommend for first time cubers.

This cube is very smooth! The corner cutting is just a little, but it is not advertised as a speed cube, which is able to corner cut because of the rounded shape of each individual cube. The stickers are great quality although one was not straight, but was still applied on the cube very well. This cube is well worth the money.

I got it super fast, like in a few days. The cube is a little smaller than a standard rubik's cube, and it's way smoother. doesn't feel flimsly. feels like a real cube. I read some of the reviews, and see how some people say it fell apart in their hands. Not mine. I think i would have to man handle it for it to fly apart. of course it's a rubik's cube, not a tonka truck, so don't strain to move it, and you should be fine. I shaved about 10SECONDS off my top score using this cube, and totally love it. it's way faster than rubik's cube, and doesn't need lube. works perfectly right of the box. 8D
