I wanted a hot air popper and researched many products before buying this one. I've come to the conclusion that some people just don't read directions so they don't have a positive experience. I took the unit out of the box, wiped it down inside and out as it says to do. I turned it on without the top cover and ran it for about 3 minutes until all the smell burned off. I measured the white snappy brand corn into the lid and poured it inside, put the cover on. It started popping within a minute and pouring it into the bowl. Everything went into the bowl, nothing flying around to the floor or counters. When the popping stopped I turned off the power. The clear plastic chamber was full. I took the top off and poured the rest of the popcorn into the bowl.

At first, I had issues with popcorn flying out all over the place and a significant amount of popcorn kernels not popping. Then I realized I had bought jumbo popping corn and thought maybe the machine was not made for that type of kernel. After trying just plain old Great Value yellow popping corn, the thing worked perfectly. Almost no unpopped kernels were left, and the popcorn flowed nicely out of the chute.

I read the reviews about how this machine spat out hot kernels, and was possessed, etc. But I took the risk and bought it anyway. To avoid burnt popcorn, flying popcorn, and unpopped popcorn, fill the little red cap so that the kernels barely cover the surface. That's how many you should use. And as soon as you stop hearing pops, turn it off and pour it into the bowl. I didn't have to repop anything, and it all flowed nicely into the bowl.

My kids and i are totally crazy over this pop corn machine! First of all...it looks adorable! It's not too large but it pops just as much popcorn as other larger ones. It pops most of the kernels and it's really easy to clean. Just give the bottom a quick wipe. I put a little oil and a cup of popcorn kernels and voila! It's ready to pop. It doesn't make a mess at all. Then i add some salt at the end and there's no better, healthier treat! Sometimes, if we're in the mood of something sweeter, we add some sugar while it's hot and get kettle corn. It's delicious. Highly recommended!

Love our new popcorn maker. Followed directions, wiping warming up. Placed kernels in traps with oil and salt and started up.....a nice size bowl, this make 3x more than my waring popcorn and so much smaller. You'll always find none popped kernels when you pop, but this left very little u popped. We cok popcorn more than once a day so this works great for us so far. Great price for this popper.

Just bought it someplace else today and used it for the first time tonight! I MUST SAY I LOVE IT!!!! I made a small bowl for hubby and I. I was looking for one with an on/off switch specifically and this one was it. I read the instructions and yes there were some unpopped kernels but that's with any popper. .

Honestly I cant get why is the rating of this maker is so low. I was curious what ppl say about this product so i got a popcorn then decided to give it a try... Man... This machine works perfectly... Yeah little loud but makes great popcorn no unpopped kernels left, decent amount nor small neither large. To sum it up it works perfect so far and would recomend to anyone.

Great popper. My husband doesn't really like popcorn and this makes a perfect serving for one person. Other poppers I have had make huge servings, sized to big for one person to healthily eat. But this popper makes about a 4.5 cup serving, the perfect size. Plus it is darn cute.

This works great and has really exceeded my expectations formed by reading previous reviews. I have found that the key is precise measurement, just as the instructions say. However, to ensure that precision, I now use a 1/4 cup measuring cup rather than trusting my eye with the lid. From the time I want popcorn (OR POPPED SORGHUM!) to the time I have it is only 4 minutes. Huzzah!

I really do love this popcorn maker. Then my friends sent me one for my birthday, and I was really happy they did! Yes, it does spew popcorn everywhere if you aren't careful, but we just put a big bowl underneath and cover the top with a towel and it does fine. I love this popcorn maker!

I purchased this as a gift for my mother, her old one previously quite working. So far she loves it! The area where the popcorn shoots out is slightly smaller on this one, so I don't think she has as much popcorn flying rampant as she did with her last one. The look of this one is really great too, a nice nostalgic feel!

Most of the complaints I see from folks about air poppers are how it spits out unpopped kernels or whatever. They just do that. It's a spinning vortex of heat and every time a kernel pops, you have to expect that mini explosion to act upon the adjacent spinning seeds of fire. That being said, I really like this popper. CONS: You have to let it run empty to heat up for awhile before you drop in the kernels. Also, it looks like an old school gumball machine, but no gum. PROS: Most times, I don't want a full batch of popcorn, just a little snack. This is a little popper with a small footprint. It works. If you really wanted to, you could store gumballs in it.

I did tons of research before buying this popper. I didn't want bland, hot air popcorn, but something that had a more old time taste. I used coconut oil and premium kernels. The popcorn was huge and there was not an unpopped kernel in either batch I have made so far. I plan to add a bit more butter than suggested on the next batch.
