Questions & Answers
I had the exact same experience. I was attracted by the low price; guess you get what you pay for. I returned it and purchased a MXR Carbon Copy. A lot more money but it works great. Had for several months now and still sounds terrific. Moral to the story, don't put price over quality.

Yeah it's a low-mid gain deal. The pots are high, low, gain, level. It's an interesting sound, almost transparent, like you can almost hear the clean guitar behind the drive from the pedal. I use it with a strat in a folkrock band on a couple tunes. No other instrument is drive at all. It pushes just right.

I picked the CP-17 up in 2017, as I needed a basic analog delay for my studio. [+] - Sturdy design. The footswitch is reliable and the wiring is good enough that it consistently switches the effect on and off. - The "mix" dial has enough range that you can dial down and get a fairly subtle effect. - Self-oscillates fairly well [-] - Repeat length (controlled by the "time" dial) is a little short for my liking, so it's probably not fit for your Radiohead cover band - The echoes are not as lush as you might get with a higher end boutique pedal - This is not tailored for a lot of experimentation. This is a workhorse pedal that does what it is intended to do. (this is not necessarily a negative, but check your needs at the door) All in all, it sounds good and helps color your signal. I have used it in my guitar rig and also with an Arturia MicroBrute synthesizer (REALLY shines with the synth, as the MicroBrute doesn't have any sort of additional effects). I think if your needs are simply to have a good slapback or a lightly spacey sound, the Time Space will work for you!
