Only two dissappointments: 1. The user manual was translated from Chineese to English by a first year Chinese English student and 2. Communications with my Canon 60D sometimes gets confused when using it with a radio trigger (same manufacturer). You have to install it directly on the camera to straighten things out and then re-install on the remote trigger. I'm not sure this is the fault of the flash, though.

I am an advanced photographer, with 2 DSLR bodies, and I bought this for my niece as a starter. I honestly (after using it on my own equipment for a while) don't know why I would need my 4-times-as-expensive major-manufacturer flash (Don't get me wrong, my major brand flash is superb, but why 4 times the cost???).

I have not had this product for long, but so far I am very satisfied with it. It does everything it says and seems to do it well. The build quality feels good and the flash unit has a solid feel to it. This does seem to be a close approximation to the Canon unit at a much lower price. I have used it with both Alkaline and re-chargeable batteries and with either, the re-charge time was short, no lengthy wait for it to charge between flashes.

As a new photographer, a good flash for less money is needed for learning with. This flash far exceeded my expectations. Some of my professional/amature photographer friends say it is as good as most of the other expensive brands. Some say that they will be getting one ore more of these. I liked the fact that it sync'd up to my Canon T3i, right out of the box. Recommend this flash for the novice/amature photographer.
