This is truly a great beginner quad for the price point. You get everything needed to start flying with fpv and a half decent camera. You can even use your go-pro if you get the mount (only 10-15 bucks and comes with extended landing gear. Great buy for this quad). The app i didn't mind, it wasn't too shabby. Got the job done and the 3D viewing was a nice touch to use with my VR glasses. My daughter loved that. The transmitter is very nice with a beginner/intermediate/advance feature, even a prop speed limit control which is great for beginners. Fairly responsive as well. When you first get the quad you will have to put on the props and landing gear, but very quick and easy. I bought this a little while ago, but just now getting some time to review it. Now, about my 11th ish flight I was a good distance up in the air with some wind, and the quad just started going everywhere and became unresponsive. The app and camera remained on so I was able to locate the quad easily, and still loved it! The next couple flights were just as perfect as the first 10 flights, so I thought it was just acting up. Soon after the same thing would happen but this time it would get stuck in a tree (Later recovered it and it was due to a damaged prop I did not notice!). Nevertheless, this is a great quad for beginners and would recommend, and buy again if the need arose. I moved on to the MJX Bugs 3 which is an amazing improvement with the brush less motors and shear power and control, and the Phantom 3 which is bar none amazing. But it all started with this guy right here, the MJX x101. Very easy to fly and get the hang of, and the practice will come in handy when you move up to bigger and better quads. If you're on the fence about getting this, GET IT NOW!! The only other quads that even compare to this (in this price range) are the Syma quads, but I would still choose the 101x over them! Hope this helps, happy flying!

This Quadcopter was a little bit cheaper in appearance than i had expected. However, it performs very well indeed. This is my first airborn RC vehicle of any kind and i am glad that i picked this one to learn with. I have crashed it MANY times already and there has been no damage bad enough to even stop flying it. Even when i flew it out of range twice it fell to the ground from over 50 ft and bouced. Still no damage. Speaking of the range, it is just over 100 yards. It does very well in the wind too. i have flown it in gusty conditions with over 20 mph wind and it has plenty of power to get where it needs to go even while carrying the camera. The camera i purchased with mine was the C4008 model. It works OK and the APP works as advertised. The range for the camera was about half of the quadcopter itself. That part was a little disappointing. Remember, this is an inexpensive quadcopter and the manufacturers had to save $$ somewhere. If you want to take quality images with the X101 then do not buy it with a camera. Purchase one of the high quality cameras available elsewhere and mount it with a gimbal. Battery life is approximately 16 minutes without a camera, 11 with a camera. The best part about this is how very durable it is for the money invested. When I wear this out beyond repair i will probably have the experience needed to fly a much more powerful and expensive quad. This thing is great for beginners. I will say it again another way: If you are new to flying quadcopters and want a larger model with enough power to do some tricks and carry a camera but one that will also be durable then look no further. This is the one. Buy spare batteries too. it is annoying to not have them on hand when you want to spend an hour or so flying.

These drones are great. Very easy to fly and are very stable. I love that the remote even has a beginner/intermediate/advance feature on it. It also has a feature where you can press a button and the drone will fly itself back to the control aka you. I am only having 1 problem with it and that is getting the camera to show up on my phone. I have downloaded the app and i try to look for the wifi and i cant find it so i get no vision on my phone from it right now. I have no idea what im doing wrong. Once i can figure that out or someone help me I will be giving this 5 stars. It charges fairly quick. I am really happy I got this drone. I would definitely suggest these to anyone that is interested in getting one and learning to fly. This is a perfect drone to learn with. It has extra blades which it good. Once I get the camera figured out I will post a little video showing how it looks. I also got these for an honest unbiased review. Please click helpful for me if this was good for you.

This drone flies great. I'm new to the drone scene and this one having the 3 different speeds really makes learning super easy. The prop guards mount to the drone with 2 pins and only 1 screw. During a crash the 2 pins can come dislodged and the guard will be twisted in such a way as to prevent the prop from turning. The camera functions just like it says it will although the video feed may be coming into your phone or tablet upside down and display in the app and on the memory card upside down but to fix that you just have to press the 180 Eversion button and it will flip over to the correct orientation. This also flips it on the memory card video as well. The LED indicator lights are crap in the sun. Can't see them at all. Set a timer as even up close you can't see them at all if it's sunny out. UPDATE 1/14/2017: HARD LANDINGS WARNING!! If you have a hard landing check to ensure that the SD card is still in the camera. I had one hard landing and the card came out and was lost for a period of time as I forgot about that hard landing. Luckily I had been recording with my phone to test out the Wi-Fi drops and was watching another video and noticed the first hard landing of the day and went back outside and found the card laying in the grass.
